twenty-eight

Sam's POV

of course, even after that argument Lacie still decides to come back to our apartment. the drive was silent so as soon as we pulled up into the driveway, you bet your ass I was the first one out the car.

I stabbed my key in the slot as fast as I could so I could lock myself in my room before Lacie got there. but the key wasn't in the right way. by the time I flipped it over to put it in, johnson said "c'mon man. open the door" I finally got the door open and I forced myself through the door and up the steps. I heard footsteps behind me. even though I couldn't see who it was, I'm almost positive it was Lacie. but I ignored it and picked up the pace as I went up the second flight of stairs.

I closed my door but seconds later someone opened it. "hey" gilinsky called. "we're all watching a movie. you coming?" I shrugged, "why not" it could get my mind off things, besides who could it hurt? I walked downstairs with him and sat between skate and johnson. they popped in 22 jump street.

about an hour into the movie, I lost interest. apparently nate did too because he was on his phone. I looked at it to see who he was texting and saw 'Lexx😍'. I grew angrier when I saw him type out 'baby girl' after everything he said. I don't want to watch this movie anyways. I got up, "this movies boring" and I walked up the stairs.

I approached my door and I quickly stepped through. as I looked back I saw Lacie, "dude, can you wait. we didn't finish talking. We need to talk about this" she said blocking the door from closing all the way through. I sighed and opened the door in defeat. she closed and locked the door then followed me in and sat on my bed while I sat at my desk.

"I'm listening" I said. "why are you acting like I did something? we're fighting because of what you did tonight" she snapped. "yeah but we could've dropped it, but instead you brought it back up. all you do is start drama" I bounced back, I got up and took off my shirt and changed in sweatpants.

"oh please. sometime I wonder why i even stay with you" she's argued. I rolled my eyes and laid on my bed. "your not even that good" she mumbled. "come here" she did as told and crawled up next to me. I threw her top off, along with the rest off her clothing. "we'll see about that"

Lexi's POV

as soon as I got home I got a text from an unknown number.

from unknown
aye, lil mama.

instantly, I knew who this was.

me: aye, skate.
nate: you looked great tonight, baby girl.
me: oh please, I just threw an outfit together.
nate: and that's when you look your best, baby girl.

I didn't respond right away because what am I suppose to say? I don't want to flirt im in a relationship. I walked out my room, and went to Jacobs.

"hey" I smiled, getting into bed next to him. "hi" He faintly smiled. "you usually come lay down with me. what's wrong?" I asked, cuddling into his chest. "it's obvious I have competition" he sounded irritated. "what you mean?" I was confused. "just when you and sammy are around each other I just think of yall getting back together. and nate, the way he looks at you dude. I feel like I don't even look at you like that" he frowned. "you got nothing to worry about, baby. I'm here to stay with you" he nodded and I kissed him. he stroked my hair until I fell asleep.

Sam's POV

the sun seeped through the blinds onto my bed and floor. I looked at Lacie, who was cuddled up to my chest, her eyes flickering open. "hey" she smiled. "aye" I said in a serious voice. "I take what back what I said last night" she said, and I laughed. "but this time is different"

"what?" I asked, obviously confused. "you won't hear from me after this, maybe one day we'll meet again but for now, I'm leaving. youre in love with someone else, you shouldn't be with me" she smiled, covering up the sadness in her voice. she got up and put on her clothes. "bye sam" was the last thing I heard before she stepped out my door.

part of me was sad, not that she was leaving, but that it took me this long to realize she isn't who I made her out to be. I misjudged her. she broke up with me to let me try to be with someone else. I don't know if I could've ever did that. she's a good person.
