Launching from the bay, we begin making our way towards the other Dragon Empery girls. By now Baxian and Han Yu should've cleared the harbour meaning any submarines we detect will likely be hostile. Reminding the girls of this, I also take the time to contact Yat-Sen but before I do, Baxian connects.

Baxian: [Enemy identified as Eagle Union ships.]

Eagle Union ships, huh. That's a surprise but for some reason, I have an odd sense of deja vu. Haven't I experienced this before, somewhere?

????: [Answer, this scenario was also played out during prior simulations.]

That voice is back again. I should probably ask Reign about it when I get back but since it seems to only want to help me, I suppose there's no rush. I have bigger things to worry about right now, regardless.

Me: [Yat-Sen, have the others remain in the harbour and protect the city from incoming air raids.]

Yat-Sen: [Don't tell me you're going out there on your own!]

Me: [No, I have the girls Reign and her department created with me.]

Yat-Sen: [But-]

Me: [The Eagle Union are the ones attacking us.]

When she falls silent, I can tell she's figured out why I don't want the other girls fighting. They've known the Eagle Union for a long time as an ally and as a result, they'd hesitate in attacking those they view as friends and such hesitation could be the difference between victory and defeat. I, on the other hand, have no such attachments apart from a few individuals and the girls with me have never met them before so to them these girls are nothing more than a foe that needs to be eliminated.

Yat-Sen: [I understand.]

Me: [Jiangsu, help keep the city safe but don't take unnecessary risks.]

Jiangsu: [Kay!]

Yat-Sen: [Don't worry, we'll keep her safe but stay on guard. They have weapons like yours and Dalian's.]

Me: [They do?]

Yat-Sen: [Well, we've been intercepting incoming missiles for a while now so, yes.]

That's odd. Where would they get such technology from? Surely they couldn't have figured out how to create missiles by merely watching how ours work. I'd understand if she said rockets since those are as simple as pointing and shooting but a missile has guidance systems onboard along with...no, there must be something else at work here.

Me: [Everyone, be on guard.]

All: [Understood.]

Eagle Union Forces (Third Person)

Nautilus: [We've engaged Dragon Empery submarines and have already lost half our number. One is heading your way!]

All: What?

Enterprise(80): Stay on high alert!

The girls of Eagle Union, despite their confusion, move into an anti-submarine formation to protect their larger vessels but by doing so they've unknowingly alerted Baxian to their exact location.

As she closes in for the kill, she dives until she's almost scraping the seabed to avoid detection. There, she finds a school of fish, perfect to help mask her presence from other potential submarines but she's certain that sonar may still identify her so she powers down and waits.
