Enterprise (CVN-80)'s POV:
As our fleet departs to head to the country being ruled by that demon that sunk my ship, I can't help but laugh to myself. That mysterious woman that had seemingly brought me to this world after I'd been destroyed said that I wouldn't be able to convince Eagle Union to side with me and yet...here we are.
She must not know how much of a capitalist country my own nation is. They'd never turn down the opportunity my arrival and the technology I've brought provides in favour of maintaining an alliance with a country they were previously actively trying to gain a foothold in. As opportunistic as they are and have always been...the mere prospect of gaining the resources I've told them exists within the Dragon Empery...haha. It didn't even take much negotiation.
I admit, my knowledge of the history of my own country helped me convince them alongside the fact that there were humans in charge, behind the scenes, but ultimately it really came down to simply making an argument to those with the money to make a change. Ohh glorious America. Never change.
Together, we came to a mutual understanding. I'd get to have my revenge, they'd get access to my technology and knowledge from the future and everyone will profit. Of course, there's also the partitioning of the Dragon Empery and Sakura Empire but those are useless to me, even though I used my knowledge of just how filled with natural resources the region is to sell my argument.
The one condition they had, in return for all this was simply that their actions remain secret until the operation was completed. This meant keeping Enterprise, Royal Navy and the other nations/ship girls in Europe whilst all Eagle Union forces that have been briefed on the new objectives carry out the rapid conquest of Asia.
Our objective? To subdue both the Dragon Empery and Sakura Empire before our land forces arrive to mop up any resistance put up on land. Simple, really, but the actual plan is far more complex. As it turned out, they'd been planning to invade the Sakura Empire regardless and already had plans for the Dragon Empery whom they saw as a potential threat. Indeed, the government had been content with the prior status quo but Zhejiang's arrival upset the balance of power and as a result, while they maintained an allied status they'd already been looking at ways of limiting just how much a threat the Empery could pose to them. With me arriving and telling them about the costly war between our two countries in the future...well. The icing on the cake or perhaps the oil for the fire? No matter...
West Virginia: Girls of the Eagle Union! Today we begin the campaign to remove the threat posed to our nation by the Sakura Empire. Now as you know, the Dragon Empery will also be our opponent in this campaign.
Cooper: Finally, some action!
West Virginia: Will you allow me to finish?
Cooper: Sorry!
San Francisco: Why are we attacking them anyway? Aren't they like our allies or something?
West Virginia: Because that's what we've been ordered to do and since we've taken the time to declare war, I'm guessing negotiations broke down or something.
As they continue discussing the upcoming task, I take the time to glance at the full extent of our fleet. The vast majority of them don't seem particularly convinced by whatever reasons they were told by the government but I'm sure they'll forget any reservations they have when the enemy starts firing at them.
Carriers: Bunker Hill, Intrepid, Shangri-La, Ticonderoga, Enterprise (CVN-80)
Battleships: Arizona, South Dakota, Georgia, Massachusetts, Colorado, West Virginia
Cruisers: St. Louis, Wichita, Denver, Biloxi, Reno, New Orleans, Montpelier, San Francisco
Destroyers: Cooper, Ingraham, Bush, Halsey Powell, Kimberly, Radford, Cassin, Foote, Stanly, Dewey, Stephen Potter
Submarines: Albacore, Cavalla, Archerfish, NautilusIn any case, once our force joins up with the fleet coming from the Pacific base, we'll become an unstoppable force. Just thinking about it sends shivers through my body. The utter excitement-
A bright light interrupts my thought process and by the time it clears, I'm surprised to find us offshore what looks like a major city. As confusion passes through the fleet, I can't help but notice the massive offshore defences surrounding the harbour. From the looks of it, we're out of range or haven't been detected as yet but even from where I am, I can tell where we are. Looking a the city in the background, there's only one place on earth with those kinds of buildings. Yes, we're most certainly in Asia. I'm not sure how we got here this quickly though. Perhaps it's the work of that mysterious lady...
San Francisco: Where are we?
Shangri-La: Dragon Empery...
She says this as she begins launching planes from her deck. The other carrier girls reluctantly follow her in doing so but rather than launch my own planes, I turn my attention back to the target before us. Looking closely, I can make out what looks like ships moored within the harbour and even through the blurry haze, I can tell two of them are carriers. If one of them is who I think it is we have to disable her ship before she realises what's happening!
Me: We must target their carriers first!
All: What?
Me: The carriers. If we don't take them out-
????: This is ROC Chao Ho. Unidentified ships, you have entered Dragon Empery waters. Identify yourselves immediately or-
Enough of this. Ignoring the incoming communications, I reposition my carrier to allow my planes to take off away from the harbour and its defences and then open fire. As the missiles from my RAM Mk 31 Guided Missile Weapon System, however, I can't help but notice that they are getting mowed down by heavy fire coming from within the harbour. Something's protecting the Dragon Empery fleet and if my missiles can't break through even at this range...
This could be bad...
