"Dream. I will never forgive what you did."

The brunette wiped his hands on his old, worn out jacket, blood staining the fabric as he did. A low chuckle escaped his mouth as he stared down at the pitiful man before him. His face bloodied and bruised, his expression reading nothing but betrayal.
It ammused Wilbur. Oh how the man had fallen from his 'grace'.
"Wilbur? I- You- ...What?"
A confused voice cut him from his trance, turning around. He grinned at the blonde, "He did deserve it, no?" He scoffed lightly.
A sense of ease flushed over the teen.
Had someone actually just protected him from Dream? And Wilbur of all people?
He felt strangely safe... a feeling the child had not experienced in a long while.
Without a second thought, the boy jumped up and ran towards his brother, hugging him tightly.
Wilbur paused for a moment, confused at the sudden affection. After all, he was just doing what needed to be done.
After a moment he returned the embrace, holding the other tightly, as if he was going to dissappear from his life once again if he let go even the slightest.
That was something the both of them feared, but something neither would say aloud.
"You're safe with me, Tommy. I promise." He soothed, brushing one hand through the younger's hair.
Muffled sobs could be heard under the constant sound of bubbling lava.
It was almost as if the whole world had stopped as the two held each other in a warm embrace.
Even Dream seemed to have frozen in time.
.
.
.Oh, right, Dream.
Wilbur glanced at the injured man who was sat on the ground. The inmate staring right back at him with a cold glare. He knew he couldn't do anything. Not while Wilbur was here atleast.
"Try anything and I'll make you wish you were never born." He whispered as he returned the cold stare, thankful that Tommy couldn't hear him over the sound of his own cries.
The brunettes expression relaxed again as he sighed, turning his attention back to his so-called younger brother.
He carefully slid down while holding onto the other. The two now on the ground, their hold failed to loosen.
Everything was peaceful.
(Ignoring Dream, that is.)
Eventually the sobbing turned into a soft cry, and the soft cry turned into a quiet sniffle.
And soon there was nothing but peaceful breathing.Wilbur smiled softly as he carefully moved Tommy so that he was beside him, leaning on him.
While sleeping, the blonde lightly gripped the fabric of the man's worn-out coat, an attempt to find comfort, he assumed.
For however long Tommy wanted to rest, Wilbur would let him. It was a well-deserved break and he was not going to ruin that. He would stay awake as long as he needed just to make sure he was safe.
And make sure he was safe he did.
Although he still had a lot of questions, he would wait until the other was ready before he asked about it. Whatever it was did not sound pleasant, after all.
