I pulled my suitcase inside the house as I held a sleeping Alena in my free arm.
"She's sleeping?", dad whispered.
"Out cold.", I replied, carefully handing her over to him.
"Thanks, Ley. You gonna head to Aides?", dad asked.
"I'm gonna find his gift first, then I'll go over there. I can't wait to see him.", I smiled.
We just came back from spending Fourth of July in North Carolina, and we planned on going to spend some time in California for Joe's birthday in a few weeks.
I got upstairs, and immediately plopped down on my bed.
As I laid there, absolutely exhausted from the nearly 10 hour drive home, my best friend Madeline texted.

M: r u home yet?
A: just got here. im gonna go see aides, hopefully i can swing by urs before i leave again
M: :( where are u going again?
A: im going to cali
M: omg luckyyyy! aren't you going for joes birthday?
A: yea, but I also have to do some production work on FTF before it goes out :)
M: I can't believe Demi, Miley, Noah and Billie are working on this album with u! powerful women including urself 💅
A: aw thank you Mads! u partially helped with this too so don't be sad :/
M: thx ley. anyway, ttyl, i'm gonna eat dinner :)

As I rummaged through my duffel bag, I found the three special gifts I'd chosen for the Gallaghers.
I got Aidan a bracelet that had 'A + A' engraved on the inside, his mom a ring, and I got his dad a mug.
"Mom, dad, I'm heading to Aidan's house, I'll be back by 9 the latest.", I called out, slipping on my crocs.
They told me to have fun, and with that I was running down the block to his house.
I rang the doorbell, impatiently tapping my foot.
"Bebe! You're here!", he smiled, hugging me as we broke away, sharing a short kiss.
"How was North Carolina?", he asked.
"It was fun, we went to Myrtle Beach, and mom, Sophie, Priyanka, the girls and I went out to have a girls day. I pretty much sulked all day because I missed you.", I smiled.
"I missed you too. Come in, my mom is dying to see you.", he said, opening the door as I took off my crocs and put them by the shoe rack.
"Ashley, you're back! How was North Carolina?", Aidan's mom asked, immediately hugging me.
"It was great. Did a lot of sleeping.", I replied, as I handed her the gifts for her and Aidan's dad.
"Oh, thank you sweetheart, they're beautiful.", she smiled.
These people could smile a ton, I tell you.
As Aidan and I ran upstairs, we talked more about what I did in North Carolina until we decided to do late night swimming.
I put my bleached blonde hair up in a messy bun, and I had my mom drop off my bathing suit.
"Wait, before we get in, we should take one of those cringy couple photos for Instagram.", I suggested once we got outside.
I had Aidan's shirt on over my bathing suit for right now, mainly because it was insanely comfortable, and I was still a teensy bit insecure.

I decided to let him go in first, as I wanted to just sit in the sun.
I had my eyes closed for not even two minutes until I felt someone pick me up and start running.
I screamed, startled by the touch.
I opened my eyes to see Aidan swinging me over the pool.
"Aidan Ryan Gallagher, if you drop me in this pool, so help me god, I will break up with you.", I said.
"Well then, I guess we're breaking up?", he shrugged, dropping me in the pool as I screamed again.
"You smarty pants, the chlorine is gonna ruin my hair!", I whined.
"You're getting it dyed next week anyways, you won't die.", he replied, jumping in beside me.
After playing around for a few hours, we decided to get out and call it a night.
After I changed into my clothes, I ended up taking a nap while Aidan took a shower.
Turns out, I was so exhausted from traveling that he had to carry me home.
As my eyes fluttered from the feeling of being put into bed, I fully opened them, and saw dad carrying me upstairs.
"D-dad?", I mumbled.
"Go back to sleep, Ley. I'm just putting you to bed.", he whispered, tucking me in.
"Where's Aide?", I asked, as he sat on the edge of my bed, running his fingers through my hair softly.
"He just dropped you off, he said you fell asleep.", he replied.
"Okay, goodnight dad.", I yawned.
"Goodnight, lovebug. Sleep tight.", he said, getting up.
