I know nothing about how this works so for the Wattpadness let's pretend it's like this, and also give it a vote for my poor attempts

Yesterday had been hectic, cleaning taking up most of the day, all of it actually. They'd organised the house form top to bottom, ensuring that it was as presentable as possible, giving them the highest possible chances of the agency telling them they're good enough to become parents.

The morning had also been busy, last minute organising of the spare bedroom, a drive to the tip to throw out some things they didn't need and emptying the bin in the kitchen to make the house seem as clean as possible. Needless to say, it was a lot of work, but now they sit, nervously bouncing their legs whilst sat on the sofa, waiting for the doorbell to ring.

"Dream", George breaks the silence and the blonde hums, "Do you think the house looks good enough?"

"I think it looks perfect", he rubs George's arm softly, pulling him into his side so press a soft kiss to his forehead, "It's going to be fine, by the end of today, we are going to be celebrating."

Even though the words sound confident, Dream feels anything but. In all honesty he's just as stressed out as George, but he keeps his cool, knowing that both of them being nervous isn't going to do them any good. A shaky breath lands on his chest from George exhaling, "Okay", the brunette mumbles out, "I trust you."

Dream strokes fingers through the brunette hair laid atop his chest calmly, "Okay", he repeats softly.

"I just really want this to go well", George whispers, "If it doesn't then we can't adopt", his voice drifts off towards the end, not wanting to say the words out loud.

"That's not going to happen", Dream speaks over those words lingering in the air, "I can feel it."

"I hope you're right", George says, voice laced with worry. Then the silence returns, washing over them like an old friend and filling the room with its presence.

That is until the thing they'd both been dreading rung through the quiet air, the doorbell shrill, loud and clear through their home. Breath hitches in Dreams throat, his eyes snapping towards the door and then towards George and then back to the door again.

The brunette scrambles to get off of him, brushing down his overalls before turning to Dream whose wearing jeans and a dark green top. They catch eye contact, nod at each other as a silent confirmation and then turn to the door.

"This is it", Dream mumbles out, walking towards the front door, "Holy shit".

"Yeah", George confirms, "Now stop swearing and open the door before they leave or something", he waves his hands at the door which earns a scoff from the blonde.

"Okay okay", he responds, taking in a breath as his fingers meet the handle, no turning back. They push it down gently, earning a quiet click from the door before pulling back and swinging the door wide open.

In front of them are stood a man and a woman, both dressed in formal casual, what you'd expect them to be wearing. The lady has a loose black skirt on, accompanied by a white shirt and a cardigan whilst the man has suit trousers and a shirt, more formal than the lady.

"Hello", the woman speaks, her voice is soft, as though she knows their both nervous for what's to come, "I'm Delilah, I'm from the Orlando Adoption Agency and as you probably know I'm here to talk to you about whether or not you two are a suitable couple to raise a child".

The man nods at her before speaking, "And I'm Louis, I'm Delilah's co-worker"

"Nice to meet you", Dream holds out a hand, both of them shaking it before George does the same, "Would you like to come in?", they step away from the door to let the Delilah and Louis in.
