It's been shortly over a month of the pair being married, the honeymoon phase having slowly disappeared and the reality of life quickly slipping back into place. Streaming has started back up again and they've been consistently recording YouTube videos, editing having taken over the majority of the past week for the both of them.

It's rather mundane, yet the domesticity and love still remains within their relationship. It's carried by the stolen kisses in the kitchen when they bump into each other on their editing breaks, or gentle cuddles of an evening where they watch a movie together. It's perfect, they've settled into their new chapter well, finding their way back into life with each other after riding the high of getting married for a month.

Yet, despite how well they've fallen back into place, Dream can't help but notice a hole in their home. He sees it every time George stares at nothingness with longing in his eyes, or when he catches a glimpse of the brunette scrolling through photos of happy families on his phone.

Each time he catches him doing these things, his heart aches. The words still linger in the air from when he asked George to raise a child with him just after their wedding ceremony. There were unspoken promises, ones that are yet to be fulfilled.

He'd been there, caught onto the warmth in the brunettes voice when he spoke about their future child together and silently vowed to make it happen.

Though it's been a month, and he's completely forgotten about it until now, all caught up in their honeymoon together and the stress of returning to everyday life. It's almost midnight and he can't help but lay awake, eyes staring daggers into the ceiling as he thinks through the conversation they had a month ago.

Sighing, Dream brings a hand to pinch the bridge of his nose, rubbing it slightly before turning his head to glimpse at the sleeping brunette next to him. He's fast asleep, making quiet little snoring noises with his arm thrown over a pillow.

Dream brings the hand away from his face and glances over at the PC in the corner of the room, it's not like George is going to wake up anytime soon. Swinging his legs over the bed, he trudges towards it, sitting himself down in the gaming chair and flicking it on so that the fans whir quietly.

His mouse hovers over Google before he clicks onto it, bringing a harsh glare of white to his eyes before he quickly turns down the brightness. The blonde bites his lip momentarily, casting his eyes down towards the keyboard as he types, not looking up until he's finished typing in his search.

how to adopt a child in orlando florida

Clicking enter, his page is flooded with websites about adoption, overwhelming him slightly. Scrolling away from the ads, he clicks on a website from an adoption centre not too far from them.

The site is very informative, giving Dream all the understanding he needs about the options of getting a child when you can't have one yourself. Pulling up a blank word document, he begins to write down the key information, copy and pasting some of the text that he deems important.

Once he thinks he's got enough from the first website, he clicks on the next, writing down everything he learns until he has to move onto another. The word document slowly grows, going from one page to two, from two to three and from three to five.

As he clicks enter one last time, his eyes glance over at the time, reading it off as 3:14am. So much for sleeping.

This time, his search is a little different, and a little nerve wracking if he's being quite honest, causing him to draw in a breath before he clicks on the first respective website he sees.

He can feel his heart hammering in his chest, expectations driven high by the need to fill that hole in his and his partners life that can only be filled by the laughter of a child. It's going to be a huge commitment, he's well aware of that fact, and definitely something he and George need to discuss again.

But for now, he signs up to an adoption agency, breathing shaky as he fills in the boxes, ticking and typing away before hitting enter.

The completion screen shines at him from the computer, taunting him with what he's just done, letting him know that someone from the adoption agency will be round to look around the house in two days to see if it's a suitable place to raise a child.

Only then does reality hit him, at almost four in the morning with his husband asleep behind him on the bed. It's then that Dream realises he's just initiated what's been lingering in the air for over a month, that he's taken the first steps to adopting this child they've barely spoken about.

Despite it being so spur of the moment, he knows he's done the right thing, that this is something they both want to do.

Shutting off his PC, he returns to bed, pulling the sheets over him and George before turning towards the brunette, pulling him gently into his chest. The scent of honey fills his nostrils, it's sweet, a scent he'll never get bored of.

Lying there, waiting for sleep to overcome him, he wonders silently what their child's scent will be. Whether she'll smell of sweet roses or of soft cinnamon. He wonders what her personality will be like, whether it'll be bubbly or quiet, whether there'll be many layers to her personality with sprinkles on top.

The pondering fizzles away slowly, letting the blonde slip into a needed sleep. His dreams being filled by images of the daughter he wishes to raise with George, the one he longs for and knows the pair needs to be complete.

And it's almost cliche how a notification pings on his computer just as he falls asleep, almost as though it's a set up, something that only happens in movies. But it's there, in his inbox, a small notification telling him that there's a little girl to be born on the 14th April, about a week from now, who has no one willing to adopt her.

Out of everyone on the site, everyone has refused, there's reasons why, many, but it's not any reason that Dream or any decent human being would deem great enough not to want to adopt a child.

There's a history of adhd in her family, both of the parents and their parents having it. It's a silly reason not to adopt, a child deserves a home and a pre-diagnosis of something that should be irrelevant when adopting a child shouldn't give them any less chance than anyone else.

So as he lays asleep, the little girl waits, waits for Dream to wake up and inform George of the surprising news before showing him the adoption website where they'll both inevitably find the email.
