"Fuck this is actually happening", the brunette comments in the car, his mocha eyes turning to meet green for a moment before returning to his hands, "I mean, we're actually going to a store to buy all of the stuff we need, right now", he exclaims, throwing his hands up in the air slightly.

"Yeah", Dream breathes out, "Bit surreal now isn't it", he speaks carefully as he drives, eyes fixed on the road.

"A bit", George agrees, though his eyes remain bright, "But it's definitely going to be worth it, god I'm so excited".

He's been feeling bubbly inside for the past few days, each one feeling like a fever dream and as though he was on cloud nine every day. The warmth is one he's never felt before, excitement mixed with nerves for a thing he's never been able to appreciate or have before. And despite the rushed circumstances, there's still that simmering heat within him that loves the child already, the one that would do anything for her even though she's not born yet.

Rolling down the window a little to let himself breathe, he tastes the air on his tongue. It's refreshing and light, soft like clouds. It's then that he wonders whether their child will be soft and light, whether her hair will carry that scent all newborns do that sends everyone around them into awe. He wants to treat her right, like their own little princess who they can spoil with their love and affection.

And most of all, he wants to do it for Dream, to give the blonde another chance to relive his childhood. It's a common thing he's heard from parents, that when you raise a child you relive your own through their eyes. He wants Dream to experience that, to see that the world isn't all bad and that when done right, parenting is beautiful.

"Georgie", the comment snaps him out of his little world, "We're here".

They've decided on going to one big store to gather all of their things, reading good reviews about it online and deciding to trust the strangers opinions. It looks larger than in the photos, big white walls towering over them with baby items in every window.

It's a little daunting as he steps out of the car, slipping his hand into Dreams and squeezing slightly for support. Once they walk in, once they pick up the first item, he supposes that technically they're officially unofficially parents.

Taking in a deep breath and glancing at the blonde with a nod, they step into the store. It smells like wood and new toys, the scent you would expect from a store containing toys, cribs and other baby essentials.

"You've got the list?", Dream asks with a smile, it's sickly sweet, one that never fails to make George feel weak, one that is a constant confirmation of his love for the blonde.

"Yeah", he responds, pulling a crumpled piece of paper out of his back pocket and unfolding it. There are creases everywhere which doesn't exactly help make Dreams messy handwriting any more legible, but George will manage.

The blonde glances over at it and nods as they fall into a comfortable silence, both of them too scared to speak in the situation they're in. The list is already in a good order, listing off all of the things they will need from most to least important.

At the top, they have crib, and they must've underestimated how many options there would be because as they turn into the isle it's got the most options they've ever seen. George's eyes widen at the sight of it, heart beating slightly faster as it kicks in more and more that this is actually real, it's actually happening.

"Which one?", the blonde asks, confusion seeping into his voice, "There's so many". It's more of an observation than a comment, so George just hums before answering.

"The walls are baby yellow right now", he shrugs, "So I don't want to get a brown one, it'll make the room look ugly and won't fit with the aesthetic of the rest of the house".

Dream simply laughs a little in response, "A white one it is", he comments, pushing the oddly large cart with a layer at the bottom to place a flat pack crib or baby chair towards the section of the crib isle with the white coloured ones.

"That one's cute", George points to one on a high up shelf, it looks like every other crib there, only there's a small carved butterfly pattern along the edge, making the wood look prettier and less boring. Dream isn't one to argue, not when one looks so perfect and fitting for the child.

"Yeah", the blonde responds, "Here", he pushes the list back into George's hands from where he had taken it at some point before reaching up to pull the flag packed crib down from the shelf. It's heavy to say the least, causing him to huff slightly as he places it on to the cart which George just snorts at.

"What's so funny?", Dream playfully snaps at him to which the brunette snorts again.

"Ooh im Dream I'm so strong let me get the crib", George mocks lightly, waving his arms around a little bit.

"You're such an idiot", Dream comments with a scoff, beginning to push the cart out of the isle as George wanders beside him.

It's not too long before they've managed to gather most of the essentials they need for the room, finding things such as a changing table and bassinets at almost every turn in the shopping centre. The cart is full to the brim, overflowing with random toys that Dream seemed essential that honestly George didn't see the reason in, but he can't deny that it's cute watching the blonde get all excited over a stuffed giraffe.

"It could be that teddy she has for years", he holds it up for the brunette to see, "I mean, look how adorable it is", George laughs a little.

"There's practically no room Dream, the carts dropping things as we move and making a dodgy squeaking sound that we might have to pay for uf it breaks", the brunette comments with a sigh. Though his gentle tone drops has he watches light leave Dreams eyes, the blonde lowering the giraffe.

"I just thought it'd be cool", he mumbles as he goes to place it back on the shelf, being stopped by a hand reaching up to grab his wrist. When he turns his head he's met by a sweet smile, the brunettes mocha eyes filled with nothing other than love and warmth.

"Put it in the cart", he smiles, "Then lets go pay m'kay", Dreams eyes immediately light up as he places the giraffe gently on top of a pile of baby clothes, ensuring they don't fall.

Needless to say, they're going to have a lot to set up when they eventually make it home, plus, fitting things into the back of the car is going to be a nightmare.

However, neither of them care how much time it's going to take in the moment, the smiles that both their faces wear are brighter and warmer than any other. Bubbles of love for their unborn child filling them both up to the brim as they begin the short walk to the tills to pay.
