10am rolls around faster than expected, leaving Dream to speed slightly down the highway in order to get them to the adoption centre on time, only just making it with a minute to spare as they walk in through the door."I told you to leave earlier", George grumbles, "I was ready at nine thirty and you were still showering because in your words 'we had time'", he does little quotation marks with his fingers as they walk towards the front desk.
"We made it didn't we?", Dream comments and George huffs, "So there's no need to be grumpy when we're about to meet the two people who have all the power in deciding whether or not we can adopt this child."
A sigh escapes the brunettes lips, "I s'pose you're right", he laces his fingers with Dreams, "Lets go make a good impression."
They walk up towards the desk, both with smiles on their faces to present themselves well, wanting every chance possible to adopt this child. The lady at the desk has deep brown hair cut to her shoulders, a red headband sits atop her head contrasting her green eyes.
"Hello", she chirps, "Can I take both of your names please", she glances between Dream and George momentarily before looking back down at her computer screen.
"Dream and George", the blonde speaks in response, squeezing George's hand slightly as he does so, the brunette squeezing back. The lady types into her computer, noting down both of their names before looking up at them with a smile.
"If you could head towards room 12 which is down the hallway that would be perfect, the expecting couple and Delilah who you met yesterday are in there waiting for you, good luck, I'm sure you'll do great", she points down a hall to her left to which Dream nods.
The blonde casts a quick look at the brunette holding his hand, warmth filling viridescent eyes at the quick glance before leading them down the hall. Cream coloured walls fill both of their vision as they make their way down the corridor, passing various doors with numbers on until they reach number 12.
"This is it", George breathes, looking up at the blonde with nothing other than love and hope, warming Dreams heart.
"Yeah", he replies, "Ready?", his voice is slightly shaky, nerves taking over his system as he mentally prepares himself for what's to come.
In response the brunette raises a fist, knocking on the door twice before dropping his hand back down. A 'come in', is heard from the other side of the door, signalling them to enter.
Disconnecting his hand from the brunette, Dream sighs a little at the loss of warmth, using that hand to open the door. As they enter the room, the blondes eyes flick around, taking in his surroundings to make himself feel more comfortable.
The room is painted a baby blue, chairs a soft yellow and small board on the right hand side behind the chairs a light brown. The board is covered in photos of children who have been adopted from all ages, ranging from tiny newborns up to teenagers, each one looking as happy as the last. It's quite a quaint room, perfect for interviews to be conducted in, not too formal yet not too informal.
Eventually, his eyes fall on the expecting couple and sorrow washes over him. The pair sat on the chairs can't be over nineteen, still young and in their teenage years, their whole lives ahead of them. His gaze meets the male, he's got scruffy brown hair, cut quite short but still long enough to see that it could be curly if he tried to style it, being accompanied by grey eyes that look dim and with a loss of life.
Then his gaze travels to the woman, her hair seems to be purple, though light blonde comes through the roots where the hair dye is washing out. Her eyes are blue, nerves evident within the iris as they flit about the room. She's heavily pregnant, looking as though she could give birth any day now, it pains Dream to see, she's so young and yet she has to go through this, he wishes he could take both of their pain away.
