Welcome to my kidfic that no one asked for that I wrote anyway
Once they escape the crowd and make it back to George's dressing room, the blonde turns to face him with a smile on his face and a glint in his eyes.
"You know", he speaks softly, walking closer to the brunette, "Iris is a pretty sweet kid."
"Yeah she is", George says with confusion evident in his tone, "Your point being?"
"Well...", Dream pulls George into his chest so that he can rest his head atop curly brown locks, "I've been thinking."
"About what?", George asks, still confused and voice muffled in Dreams chest.
"Do you want to raise a child with me?", his tone is gentle, giving George the knowledge that he can easily say no.
But there's something in the way Dreams holding him, it's soft, domestic even, and the only way it could possibly be more domestic is with a child. He likes the idea of it all, the domesticity, it's always appealed to him, been the thing he loves most about relationships.
So with a slight upturn of his lips, and a gentle blush rising to his cheeks, he pulls slightly out of Dreams embrace.
"I'd love to", he raises himself up to kiss Dream, the blonde melting into him and kissing him back, their lips in unison as they brush together before they both pull away and lean back into the embrace.
"So", Dream starts, voice with a lilt of playfulness, "Girl or a boy?", it's obviously teasing but happens to be something George has thought about for a long time now, since he was little.
"Girl", he mumbles into Dreams chest, "I want to watch you try and do little pigtails in her hair of a morning before school, or watch you try and make her watch football with you before you both inevitably fall asleep on the sofa"
There's a warmth in George's voice that Dreams never heard before, it's the type of warmth that only comes when talking to or about a child. And in this case, their child.
He wants to hear more of it, hear the domesticity in his husbands voice that's so warm and sweet like honey that could make him melt. So it's then and there that he decides he's going to make it happen, he'll spend every waking moment trying to find a little girl that needs adopting or will need adopting when she's born. Because if this is the person George becomes when talking about a child, he can't wait to experience it firsthand when it actually happens.
"Okay", he whispers out, "We'll have a little girl", they remain in each other's warm embrace, tears pricking at both of their eyes as the moment grasps them.
It's a moment that'll last forever in their memories, the end of one journey, and the beginning of another.
