It was a sleepless night for Erik he was use to the cold of the opera house cellars but this was worse. "Hey man." Nadir said from behind the steel door. Erik looked as the door was opened for Nadir. "So what's your plan?" Nadir asked once the door was closed. Erik reclined on the cot, "I've had all night to think and what I've got is I have to get past the door, the chains and the, large amount of guards. God I really wish I was actually a ghost it would make this situation much more simple."
Nadir leaned against the stone wall slowly he reached and pulled a knife out of his pocket, "I'm sure you will find a use for this."
"Thank you."

Ada paced back and forth it had been 2 weeks since Erik was arrested she was sure he could get out by now. "Ada?" Christine asked from behind her. She didn't want to talk now especially to one whose husband was the cause of her tears. "I wasn't crying." Ada sniffed wiping her eyes. Christine gave a nervous laugh, "Its ok to cry. I did to and I haven't seen him in years."
"It's just that... Why did he turn him in?" Ada cried kneeling down on the ground. Christine knelt beside her. "Raoul hates him always has. I've known The Ang... Erik for years, he is smart he will find a way out."
"And then he will have to be on the run if he escapes."
"Ada, he has been in the run and in hiding all his life if... When he gets out he will live no differently." Christine said attempting to encourage Ada. "And he loves you, believe me he will do anything."Ada began crying again burying her head in her hands. "He still loves you."
Christine laughed, "No, no he loves you. At opening night I saw him, his eyes use to be always on me but not this time. He was watching you."
Ada looked up her green eyes red from crying and her cheeks tear stained.
"His love for you is different than it was for mine, he thought he had to prove himself to take me into his darkness. With you Ada, he is open and alive he even went out with you, he is crazy for you!"Ada couldn't help to blush, "do you know where he is." Ada questioned. "I can take you now."

-----------------Erik played with a small item in his pocket. He was bored stiff, he drew in the dusty floor sang to himself and even tried entering himself by lacing and unlacing his shoes nothing helped. "Are you sure there's nothing you can give me to entertain this bored being?" He asked the guard. "I can take you into the next room." The guard spit, pointing to the door that led to the tourture room where prisoners could be beaten till they give up information.
Erik turned pale. "On second thought I'm happy right here."Erik closed his eyes letting sleep overcome him.

-Flashback-
It was dark, cold, the dead of winter. The gypsies had settled down for the winter, the show's were off for the season. Erik, probably no older than nine sat in the filthy cage among the gypsies animals. He could barely stretch out. His back and face stung from that mornings beatings. The Devils Child that's what they called him, it must have been true because when the sack was pulled from his head people screamed. He knew why, the first and last time he saw his face nightmares of himself plagued his sleep for years. The tent door opened as his masted stumbled in reeking of alcohol, Erik knew what was coming as he cowered to the far corner of the cage unable to avoid the pain that was coming.

"He's right in there." Erik overheard the guard say. Erik sighed not bothering to get up, "you have visitors." The guard grumbled opening the cell door. "Oh Erik," Ada cried running to him and wrapping her arms around him. "I'm so sorry."
"I'm fine," Erik lied putting in a convincing smile, "I'll be out of here soon."
"Not on my watch!" The guard interrupted.
"We will see. How have you been?" Erik asked Erik asked un pinning her hair and putting the pins in his pocket. "What are you doing?" Ada asked as Erik started taking her hairpins out of her hair.
"I like your hair better down. And plus I need these." He whispered. "Hello Christine! I didn't see you there." Erik added noticing Christine at the door. Erik leaned in to Ada's ear, "I'll be out next Friday night." He said his voice low and soft.
