Erik's eyes slowly opened the simple action causing pain to surge through him. He was in a bed now several voices surrounded him.
"Oh thank god!" Ada gasped running to Erik's side. Erik winced as he tried to move but couldn't.
"Don't try and move." Ada instructed putting an ice compress on his head, "the doctor says you have a really bad head injury as well as some bruised ribs."

"Mary," Erik mumbled "she saw me. Mary saw my face."

Ada removed the compress to look at the injury it was all shades of black and blue with a gash that was still bleeding. "Mary just went to get more ice." Erik moved his eyes towards Christine who was standing on his other side. "Christine, Mary is Raouls niece." Erik said slowly. Christine nodded knowing who's daughter she was. "My husbands family will not want anything to do with her." Erik smiled weakly. "I hope you right."

Ada came into the room with a bowl of ice her face worried. "Are you going to be ok?" Mary asked slowly. Erik sighed and nodded slightly, "just a headache and a little sore."
Mary sat next to him "you need to sleep." Erik nodded in agreement closing his eyes drifting off instantly.

"Perhaps, it would be best that we go." Christine voiced gently. Ada shook her head, "just keep Raoul away from Erik."
Christine exited the room, "you should go to bed to." Ada instructed to Mary.

Ada lay in the bed next to her husband who was still asleep. Pain coursing through her body.
Erik awoke to being shaken by Ada. Her eyes were wide and pained. "Erik... Have Mary get the doctor." A contraction started as she curled up waiting for the pain to stop. Erik jumped up the room spun as he fell onto his desk. Erik stumbled out of the room pain surging through his head.

He pounded on Mary's door, "Mary get the doctor!" Mary pulled open the door her childlike frame dressed in a white nightgown her hair tied up on top of her head. "You don't look good." She told him groggily looking at his unmasked face showing no fear but instead concern at the bruised side of his face as his tall lean form swayed as a rush of dizziness came over him. "Ada is in labor. Go get the doctor." He hissed nervously. Mary ran past him his request suddenly made sense to her.
Erik sat on the bed next to his wife who had finished her contraction. "Are you ok?" He asked her his face fear stricken for her. "Im so excited." Her face was beaming she looked exhausted but excited.

The doctor came through the door, "Erik you can't be up. Go into Mary's room and lay down." The doctor ordered. "Doctor please..." Erik begged. The man held up his hand, "Go I can't work on your wife with you on the verge of passing out."
"I'm not going to passout." Erik snapped his temper rising.
"Mary, would you get the sleeping pills for Erik."
Ada was forced to laugh at the doctor and the rage in Eriks blue eyes. "I will force you to take these if you don't go lay down. Your condition worries me more than you wifes." The doctor stated a bit of humor in his voice.

Erik snarled at the man leaving the room.
"Mary could you go get Meg?" The doctor asked between another contraction.
"She's not here she went out to dinner with a man and hasn't returned." Ada told him sweat dripping down her face.
"Well then go get some one else."
-----------------

Erik sat on the bed ignoring the pain in his head and ribs. "Mr. Y! Lay down now!" The little ten year old girl snapped as she walked into the room. "Who is with her?" He asked his voice shaking. "Christine and the doctor, she will be fine Mr. Y."

Erik growled to himself he hated being away from her. Erik stayed awake as the clock ticked slowly. It seemed like days had passed until christine burst into the room causing Erik to jump and clench his head at the sudden movement.
"You have a son." Christine exclaimed not flinching at Eriks unmasked face.

Erik leapt up off the bed followed by Mary. The door was open Erik peeked into the room a rush of joy flooded over him when he finally realized all that had happened. There Ada lay with a small child in her arms. Erik walked to his wife sitting next to her. "I'm a father." He gasped tears streaming down his cheeks. Ada handed him the sleeping baby. Erik tensed up as the newborn was placed in his arms, he had never been near a child younger than Mary. He was so small and frail.
His little nose wrinkled up as he made a little noise. Erik gasped, "He doesn't like me!" The three girls giggled, "Hes saying 'hello PaPa." Mary chimed peeking over his shoulder to see the baby. The babys eyes opened revealing two bright blue eyes.
"I think he has your nose." Mary chuckled. Erik frowned, "Well Its not Adas nose!" She added quickly remembering the deformity that she had grown to ignore. Erik smiled again tears filling up his eyes. "Sit Mary," he instructed."

Mary cocked her head but obeyed. Ever so gently he handed her the child, "How would you like to be a member of our family?" Erik asked once the child was in her arms. Mary gasped looking at Erik, then Ada, and back down at the baby. "Really? You mean adoption?" Ada nodded, "We love you and want you to have a home." "What about Raoul?" Mary whispered.

Christine moved from the doorway to the four, "I assure you, he will be of no trouble." Mary's eyes lit up as she nodded without a second thought.

-Five Years Later-

"Erik! I told you to watch Gabe!" Ada snapped to her husband who was lost in his composing. Erik stopped the song he was playing, "he's right there he stated pointing to a violin on the floor without looking up.
"No, he's not!"
"What?" Erik growled looking at the instrument on the floor.
"He was playing the violin a moment ago."
"No papa he wasn't." Mary chimed in as she walked into the music room dressed in the new productions costume holding the hand of a five year old blue eyed boy. "He ventured down into the orchestra pit and was playing along with the musicians."

"He was playing almost as well as they were might I add." Mary laughed.
"Were you, Gabe? Erik asked crouching in front of the child. he nodded then put his hands on his hips. "You need to talk to that violinist John, he can't tune his instrument it was repulsive." The little boy snapped. Ada laughed, "Remind you of anyone?" Erik blushed, "No one comes to mind." He joked.
Mary rolled her eyes, "I have to go practice." The child ran after his teenage sister.

Ada pressed her lips against Eriks taking advantage of their moment alone. The door burst open causing the two to jump. "Denis!" Erik gasped laughing a bit. Ada ran to hug her brother, "Why didnt you tell us you were coming?" She laughed, "Why? Can a brother not surprise his sister in this country?"
Erik chucked shaking the man's hand. "Where those your kids?" Denis questioned, "Yes, Mary whose 15 and playing the lad in the upcoming show." Erik told him.
"And Gabe, the exact replica of Erik." Ada chimed in.

"Where's father?" Ada questioned. A jolly laugh sounded causing Erik and Ada to laugh to. "Want to see a magic trick?" Gabe asked from down the hall.
"Well it seems he has found his grandson." Erik stated following Ada who had run out to greet her father.
"I have to say," Denis said walking next to Erik, "I have never seen my sister so happy."

Erik smiled, "It's been a bumpy road but having a family and a place to really call home makes it all worth it." Erik looked about the opera house he could hear Mary singing on the stage, Gabe was demonstrating to Ada and her father how to play the violin. Ada was laughing her bright green eyes dancing with joy.
"I never thought I could know happiness. And I have you to thank Dennis for helping me have that chance."
