"So what will you do from here?" Denis asked between bites of his breakfast. Erik leaned back in his chair, "I'll take the first ship to America, no one should find me there." He explained to Denis. Ada looked down her eyes were glossy. "You couldn't stay here?" She asked her voice was shaking.
"Not if I want to live."
"When do you have to leave?"
"The end of the week."
Ada scooted her chair away from the table and hurried to the kitchen. "She will be ok."
Denis assured him. Erik sighed "Could I talk to you outside?" Erik asked feeling the trinket on his pocket again.

Denis nodded and escorted Erik to the back yard. "Denis, I love her I want to take her with me." Erik explained. Denis Chuckled , "I expected that to come up soon. You're a good man Erik, I know she loves you. You'll have to bring up the question of marriage to our father also he's who can give her away."

Erik nodded, "I guess I'll have to stay a few more days in Paris."

Erik turned and left Denis to go check on Ada.
"Ada I'm sorry." Erik whispered as he walked into the kitchen he wrapped his arms around her waist from behind. "I know you don't want to go just do what is best and don't get hurt." Ada begged fighting back her tears. Erik sucked in her scent, "I love you." He muttered into her ear. Ada turned to face him, "please, don't say that it will only make our parting worse." She cried into his chest her words felt like a dagger was plunged into his heart he couldn't leave her. "Ada I..." He thought of the item he had been carrying in his pocket for weeks. "I'm going the the theater tonight would you come help me gather some things?" Ada nodded turning back around to start with the dishes. "I'll dry for you." He offered his voice shaking.

It was a slow uneventful day, Ada seemed to not want to be with Erik he tried to tune their mothers old piano but with his injured hands he couldn't. So he retreated to reading a book.

"I'm heading to the theodor if you still want to join me." Erik offered to Ada who was playing her violin by the fireplace. A smile formed on her rose red lips causing Erik to relax she hadn't smiled all day and it was upsetting him.

It was around 10 or 11 the streets were empty except for a drunk or two that lay passed out in the aley. Snow was fluttering from the sky reflecting themselves off of the streetlights making them to almost glow. Erik wrapped his cloak around him protecting him from the icy breeze, "are you to cold Ada?" He asked ready to offer his cape.
"No, I'm fine."

Erik pulled open the trapdoor that was hidden behind the opera house he jumped down down the short drop, happy to be out of the snow. He helped Ada down and hand in hand made there way through the maze. The two came to the back entrance of Erik's lair, it was just how it was left the smell of wax still lingered, Erik lit a few candles illuminating the room. "It's beautiful." Ada whispered beginning to move about the room. She flipped through the papers in his desk, there were sketches and music scores scattered about. "I love this place." She sighed opening a wooden box. "Are these Diamond fragments?" She gasped looking at the specks of cut rock, "are these from Christine's ring?"

Erik chewed his lip. "No."
