The two were sitting in the grass again the next night.

She looked at him, admiring him. He's beautiful, she thought.

He turns his head to look at her. She turns away quickly and admires the sky. "I could sit here like this forever," She expressed.

"Me too," He spoke, his eyes glued to her. He was worried about her. He wondered why such a beautiful person would do that to themselves. The image of her wrists playing in his head.

Her smile faded. He probably feels sorry for me, she thought.

"Well you were right to be suspicious," Kol spoke to Esther as the four walked through the cemetery. "Davina's hiding something in that attic. The door was locked with a rather complex spell."

"Could be a weapon, source of power?" Syrah suggested.

Esther nodded. "I'd prefer not to leave anything to chance. Better we know what she has and whose side she's on. So you'll take her to dinner,"

"I just stood her up for coffee. She probably hates me by now," Kol complained.

"Just do as you're told, Kol" Finn spoke.

Kol rolled his eyes. "Of course, Finn the sycophant speaks up. You're gonna grovel at your mother's heels  for eternity or what?" He spoke, earning a chuckle from Syrah.

"Stop it, both of you" Esther spat. "There's enough conflict to come," She said before taking a turn to her left and revealing people waiting.

"Look at this pack of freeloaders," Kol commented.

"Nonsense, these are our friends," Esther smiled. "Wolves in need of a gift only I can provide. Moonlight rings." She said as she led them into their tomb. "The witches have been working day and night. Soon we will have enough rings for an army. And when we do, we will your brothers a visit..."

Butterflies swarmed Syrah's stomach at the mention of Klaus. It was her turn to take revenge and yet she was terrified.

"...And we will teach them the unfortunate error of their vampire ways," Esther added. "As for your knowledge Syrah, I am Cassie" Esther spoke. "And this is Vincent" She pointed to Finn. "And this Kaleb" She pointed to Kol.

Syrah sat on her bed, reading a book Kol had stolen for her. She had asked him to since she didn't have anything else to do while waiting.

Reading distracted her. It made her forget the world she was in. It made her happy.

"He's here," Kol ran through the door. "He is here. He's having tea with mother."

Syrah looked at him in confusion. "Who?"

"Klaus!" Kol answered energetically. "He thinks it's Cassie tho. I have to get going but if you want to see him, make sure he doesn't see you."

Butterflies swarmed the girl's stomach once again. He was here. He was actually here. She got up from her bed and carefully made her way to where Kol told her he was.
