She stood in front of the door in her grey sweatpants and full-sleeved blacktop. She brought up her hand to knock on the door before it immediately swung open, revealing him.

"What happened?" She asked him abruptly. "Why'd you call me here?"

He turned around, strolling into his house, not answering the question as the brunette followed after him. He led her out to the back yard where a mat spread across the grass with different sweets and snacks

A small smile appeared on her face. "You called me here to have a picnic at 10 o'clock in the night?" She chuckled. She always had a sweet spot for him, no matter how much she denied it.

He shrugged, a small smile on his face as he gazed at the girl. He noticed everything about her. She looks tired, he thought. "Are you okay?" She nods her head.

She's always been bad at lying, He thought to himself again. She turned her head to him, flashing him a smile before walking towards the mat. She was so effortlessly beautiful. He hated it. He hated the hold she had on him. He hated how she made his heart beat faster every time she looked at him. He hated when her laugh would make him laugh. He hated that she made him feel soft.

He walked up to the mat, taking a seat a few inches away from her.

She reached in to pick up a cookie. His heart sank. His smile disappeared. Her wrists.

"Did she buy it?" Esther asked as she concocted another spell.

Finn chuckled. "Entirely. Humans are weak. Their bodies are so strange. I've forgotten what it feels like to be this vulnerable."

"At least you're not stuck in the body of a teenager," Esther responded.

"At least you guys got new bodies, I'm stuck in the same one" Syrah whined. "Remind me, why I'm still in the same body?"

Esther sighed before turning to the chatty girl. "Our bodies were cremated, we simply had no choice but yours was buried, not destroyed. With my powerful magic, you came back untouched. Still a hybrid."

"Well, I love my body, mother" Kol spoke walking into the room. "I'm pretty sure Davina Claire does too,"

"Don't be puerile. We have work to do," Esther mandated. "Your brothers did me a favor by killing Francesca. Now I will control the witches and the werewolves. With the vampires in exile, we can begin to take root in our new home. Finn, Kol, Syrah. Let's get to work. We have a family reunion to plan"

Syrah sat on her bed, guilt running through her body. None of them knew she was alive. None of them knew why she was alive. None of them knew she sided with Esther. None of them knew anything.

"Are you okay?" Kol asked, walking into the little room the two shared. "You look off,"

Syrah wiped her tears quickly before he could notice. "I'm fine, I just feel a little queasy, being alive again and all" She fake chuckled.

"You lost your baby, I don't how that feels but I do know what losing your life feels like," Kol spoke. "Trust me, when the moment comes and you finally get your revenge on Klaus, It'll feel amazing."

A smile appeared on the hybrid's face. "Thank you. You know, when I first found out I was pregnant, I was going to kill it. But something stopped me and I just gave up. I understand now, how much it hurts. It's like a part of me is dead from losing my baby and I just want to see Hayley and I want to talk to someone but I can't. I'm stuck here,"

"Only for a little while longer," Kol reminded her. "Come on, I wanna show you something" He added before pulling her out of bed and taking her up a flight of stairs. "Okay, open your eyes"

Syrah smiled. "Kol, we're not allow-" She stopped when her eyes met the skies. The Night, like a baby who sleeps, its expression is so serene and quiet. Syrah watched the stars, enjoying this charming night as if everything belonged to her.

The two spent hours on the roof before it turned twelve. "Do you like Davina Claire?" Kol asked as the two were in their beds.

Syrah smiled and turned to face Kol's bed. "Do you like Davina?"

"No. She is simply a mission my mother has given me," Kol answered, staring up at the ceiling.

"Liar," Syrah laughed. "Good night," She added before turning her body and closing her eyes. It replaying in her mind.
