After sobbing for what felt like days, Her back was against a tomb, Her hands wrapped around the back of her neck. She got up onto her feet and walked out of the cemetery, hesitantly.

It was all the same, how Syrah had seen it a year ago. It was all the same. It was all familiar to her and yet it felt unfamiliar.

Her eyes wandered around the city from every person to attraction, as she glided through the busy street. Before she was pulled into an alley.

"Ouch," Syrah yelped before someone placed their palm on her mouth, muffling her voice. Her heart gained speed with fear.

Hayley lips apart, stunned. "What?" She mumbled.

Butterflies swarmed Syrah's stomach. Hayley. The two stood in an alley, frozen.

"Hi," Was all that came out of syrah's muffled mouth before Hayley pulled her into a hug.

Hayley breathed in her scent as she squeezed tighter, the familiar warm tones of vanilla and roses, calming her down. The rise and fall of Syrah's chest calmed her nerves. "You're real,"

"I'm real," Syrah whispered into her ear. "I'm here,"

Hayley pulled away, cupping Syrah's face. "Shit, Shit, Shit, okay follow me, no questions asked" She remembered before the new hybrid sped away as Syrah followed, a thousand questions swarming her head.

They entered a beat-down church. "Are you a hybrid?" Syrah asked, her shoulders instantly dropping.

Hayley gulped. "Yeah- yeah Sy, how are you alive?" She asked.

"Esther,"

Hayley's eyes widened as it all clicked. "You're the vampire, oh my god you're the vampire working with Esther?" She spat.

"No- I was. And then Elijah talked to me and now I- I don't know, I'm so confused" Syrah explained. "Did you by any chance have a baby?"

Hayley sighed in relief. "You know, oh thank god. She's- She's gone now"

A giant wave of overwhelming emotions splashed Syrah and once again, she was drowning in it.

"It's not your fault. She would've been very lucky to have you as a mother," She told the brunette, walking slowly towards her. "You're a hybrid,"

"I am. The baby's blood. She saved me" Hayley smiled, Syrah's eyes tearing up. "I held her, She was beautiful. She looked just like you." A few tears streamed down both the older Hybrid's faces. "And Klaus he completely shut down. He's shut us out since you-... He's only been talking to Cami and he's been drinking a lot"

Cami's still here, Syrah thought. "You look beautiful," Syrah smiled, cupping the brunette's face. "I took Esther's side and I didn't even know and I'm so, so sorry"

Hayley pulled her friend into a comforting hug. It really wasn't Syrah's fault. She didn't know, The brunette thought. "You have nothing to be sorry for." She spoke to Syrah, wiping her tears. "Josh, Aiden, and I have a plan. To kinda destroy Vincent. I have to get to that, Aiden will keep you company," Hayley told the Hybrid as Aiden entered the church.

"Hey," Aiden waived awkwardly. Syrah inhaled, calming herself down as Hayley and Aiden went over their plan.

"Europe, wow,"

"It's beautiful. You'd love it there" She smiled. Looking back, She never expected to bond this well with Aiden. He was genuinely nice to her, Which she really appreciated. The two had spent an hour or two talking about anything and everything. "Someone's coming," She told him, her body instantly stiffening, as a figure in a grey hoodie sped in, followed by Josh holding a blonde woman. "Cami?"
