I quickly limp into school and go to my locker to get my books for History. Sighing I grab them and slam my locker shut. This morning I had another encounter with Mike. I guess he had to finish what he never got to start...
Before I realize it I am already in front of Mr. Matthews classroom door. Taking a deep breath I slowly open it. All heads turn toward me and my cheeks turn bright pink. Trying to cover up my limp, I make my way to my desk and sit down.
"Mrs. Hart, you're late," He says and I nod.
"Thanks for pointing that out," I rolled my eyes.
"Detention," He sighs.
"Sure thing, Matthews," I smirk and he goes on with his boring lesson.
Lately I haven't seen Brandon at all. I feel like that it's my fault that no one has seen him. That one day when he tried to talk to me, but I just couldn't.
Where is he?"Maya?" I hear someone whisper from behind me.
"What do you need?" I ask and turn to see Lucas staring at me worriedly.
"Where were you?" Lucas looks at my eyes trying to find an answer.
No one ever can....
"It's nothing that concerns you," I glare at him.
"Yes it is!" He says a little to loudly and bangs his fist on the desk.
Suddenly the whole class' attention is turned to Lucas and I. Gulping I turn around and look around the classroom.
"Mr Friar, Mrs. Hart?" Mr. Matthews raises and eyebrow at us.
"Uh sorry sir,"Lucas replies and I roll my eyes.
Mr. Perfect..
"Detention, Friar," He shakes his head at us and I smile innocently.
This is going to be a long day...
---------TIME LAPSE---------
"What happened back there with you and Lucas?" Farkle asks me as I grab my bag.
"Oh nothing happened," I fake a smile at him.
I am about to walk to detention when Farkle stops me. Sighing I look at him and he looks at me suspiciously.
"Where were you this morning?" He asks.
"None of your business! Now if you can excuse me I need to go to detention," I say and walk away from him.
Once I have made it to Mr. Matthew's class, I walk in and take a seat. It's only Lucas and I here today.
"Mrs. Hart and Mr. Friar I hope you are happy, because tonight is spaghetti night and I am missing it!" Mr. Matthews states and I laugh.
"Sorry Matthews," I shake my head at him.
"You should be," he points his finger at me.
"You could just leave and eat your spaghetti, then come back," I suggest and shrug my shoulders.
"Oh no, how do I know you will stay?" He glares at Lucas and I.
"Well sir, you could just believe that we will stay?" Lucas answers and I nod.
"Yeah like Maya would ever 'stay'," He replies and I gasp.
"I will make sure she does?" He says.
"But-What-No-Ugh-You-Fine!" Mr. Matthew's throws his hands up in frustration.
"Only because I trust you Friar and it is spaghetti night!" He sighs and grabs his coat.
"You don't trust me?" I gasp again.
