A few minutes later Neil returns with a plate full of three pancakes (coverd in syrup), a few pieces of bacon, and eggs. "Here's breakfast" Neil said in a happier tone than earlier. "What about you?" Asked Max. " Nah, I can eat later. Neil responded as he say down in the office chair in front of his desk.

"Hey, Max"

"Yea?"

"It's okay if you still don't want to tell me, but seriously, why are you staying with david?"

"... Okay Ne-".

All of a sudden Nikki bursts through the door

" NEIL GUESS WHAT!!!!!!!! " "Oh, hey Max!" " But Neil guess what- waaaiiiitttttt MAX!!!! "

"Nikki!!" Max and Neil shout in unison

" Hunny, who's 'Max'? " a voice asks from somewhere in the distance.

"Mom, it's our friend from ca-" Neil puts his hand over Nikki's mouth to make her stop talking. "Nobody Miss! It was a prank!!" "Okay you two, just making sure." She responds.

"I should probably go back 'home'" says Max quietly, as he gets up and walks to the window, "I'll probably be back tonight "

Neil, wanting to know where to bring Max of he falls asleep in the middle of hanging out tonight asks "hey, Max can I walk you home?" " Sure, come on" Max responds, not noticing Nikki shipping then in the background. As they walk back to David's house Neil can't help but realize that the houses on this block seem newer than the cheap, old house his Dad bought. The finally get to the light green, two story house, and Max says "this is it, bye, see you and Nikki tonight." Neil smiles and bids him farewell before trying to figure out where he is.

Max POV

I step in the house and David immediately tells "MAX! WHERE WERE YOU!?!! I WAS SO WORRIED!!!!!!!" " Went on a walk. " Max says in a monotone voice. "Why didn't you tell me!!" David replies . "It's called, sneaking out." " I-" "..." Was all that David could reply with. " Whatever, get redy . I have spare tooth brushes and I went to the store a little while before Harrison woke up and got you both some clothes. Yours are still on the bottom bunk of the bunk bed, I have something to tell you afterwards, so hurry. " David says shortly after

I go to the guest room and pick out a blue long sleeve sweater and black jeans before heading more down the hall to the bathroom

[Time skip]

After I finish getting ready, I go downstairs and meet David and Harrison in the living room "oh, hello Max" says Harrison from the couch, I say good morning back before joining him. Me, not wanting to be here went ahead and got straight to the point "what the fuck could you POSSIBLY have left to say to me David. " "well....., It just ever so happends," he starts " good ol ' Harrison over here got your 'Mothers' license plate ".....

Please don't tell me he's going where I think he's going

" And I got a court date scheduled for next Saturday." David finishes
