Chapter 19

Kai quickly carried Ruby Jane outside the house. He put her on the ground and thoroughly examined her face while she's weakly coughing and eyes closed. "Ruby Jane, you're still alive," Kai whispered looking at her still shocked.  

"Fire! Fire! The people in the neighborhood shouted and started to go to Lisa's house. Mr. Lee ran to Kai and help him stood up. "Chairman, what's going on here?" He asked in panic. Kai looked at Ruby Jane that made Mr. Lee look at her too. "What?! This person..." Mr. Lee can't believe what he saw. "What do we do if someone comes over here?" Kai asked in confuse.

"Should we go check the house? She called many times," Jisoo suggested while driving the car. "No need. She just wants me to buy her jjajjangmyun. It's late, let's go," Lisa answered as she disagreed.

"Hey, that place is caught on fire," Jisoo said while pointing a house filled with smoke. "Where?" Lisa asked interestingly. "Looks like it," she added. "Huh?! Isn't that my house?!!!" Lisa said stupefied.

People already flock in front of Lisa's house intrigued of the incident. "Somebody already called the fire department," one of the neighbors said.

Lisa pushed her way to get through the crowd. "Kids! My kids!" Lisa shouted looking at the house emitting smoke. "Dahyun! Sana! Mina!" Lisa shouted so hard and looked for them in the crowd. When she didn't saw them she started to run to the house. "It's dangerous! Don't go!" Jisoo hugged her from behind to control her. "The kids are still inside!" Lisa cried out and successfully free herself from Jisoo.

The inside was filled with thick smoke. Lisa searched for the kids in every corner of the house. "Dahyun! Sana! Mina!" She shouted so hard. "Kids! Where are you guys?" Lisa called them out crying.

"It's too dangerous. I want to help Lisa. Lisa! Lisa!" Jisoo cried so hard. The people where holding both of her arms to stop her from following Lisa.

"Aunt Jisoo, why are you crying?" Dahyun asked her. Jisoo looked at her instantly. "What's going on?" Jisoo's mom asked when she arrived with Sana and Mina. "Where's Lisa?" she added.

"Kids I'm here. Where are you?!" Lisa called her nieces as she can't still find them in the bedroom.

Suddenly she stepped on a can. She got it and examined that it was an insect repellent.

"JEENNNNNNNIIEEEEEEEE! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!!!" Lisa screamed her lungs out.

The firemen arrived and quickly setup everything. They opened the firehose and started to extinguish.

"Noooooooo!" Lisa was about to stop them but she was late.

Kai slowly put Ruby Jane down. He brought her a few meters away from Lisa's house.

"Mr. Lee, hurry up! Get the car and drive to the hospital," Kai commanded. "Chairman, you should be calm right now. Do you really want Madam to come back?" Mr. Lee asked.

"She's still alive. There's no other choice," Kai answered. "There's no other choice. But hasn't she lost memory?" Mr. Lee argued. "What?" Kai puzzled.

"From what I know, Madam doesn't even know her name and age," Mr. Lee stated. "Then you want me to leave her at Lisa's place?" Kai said while looking at Ruby Jane who was still coughing and eyes closed. "That could work. Let's go then," Mr. Lee convincingly said.

"Wait. This shouldn't be decided right now. I need to think," Kai anxiously said. "There's no time to think. Her memory will come back soon," Mr. Lee insisted and they left her.

"In order to catch cockroaches she set off those pesticides." "Really?" "Let's go." The neighbors were talking to each other.

"If you were going to set off those pesticides, you should have informed the cops first," the fireman lectured Lisa. "I'm really sorry for alarming you sir," Lisa apologetically said.

"Be careful next time. You scared me out of my wits," one of the neighbors murmured.

Jennie arrived looking around confused of what happened. "Why is the house in this ugly form?" She asked unknowingly.

"Jennnnieeee! You! You! You!" Lisa angrily said. "What about me?" Jennie flatly said.

"What?! You caused a lot of trouble. Where'd you go?!" Lisa asked fuming.

"I don't remember," Jennie said. "How can you not remember?!" Lisa shouted which made Jennie flinched.

"She's not normal. Just leave it," Jisoo's mom said while they're holding Lisa who wants to attack Jennie. "There's too much smoke in the house. Wait until it disperses. Come to my house first," Jisoo's mom advised. "Let's go!" She added.

"Seriously!" Lisa disappointedly cried out looking at Jennie. Jennie just looked at her emotionless.

"Have you organized your thoughts?" Mr. Lee asked. "I don't know. But nobody saw us right?" Kai asked back. "Of course, no one saw us," Mr. Lee answered. "Is it really okay to leave Ruby Jane there?" Kai wanted to validate his decision. "We already left her there," Mr. Lee stated. "That's because you kept pushing me!" Kai madly said. "Why are you blaming me? Then let's go back," Mr. Lee told Kai. "Let's go back to the hotel," Kai calmly said.

Jisoo and her mom, together with Lisa, Jennie, and the kids had dinner that night.

"You can still eat?" Lisa asked Jennie mockingly. "I don't know. I don't remember how I got out the house," Jennie answered while munching her food.

"Is forgetting things your specialty? Lisa asked again. "If I can't remember, I can't remember!" Jennie answered back.

"Don't fight. The smoke should be gone now. Go back and clean up. The kids will sleep here tonight," Jisoo's mom suggested.

"I'm full. I'll going to sleep here today. If we go back, there'll be a smell and a pile of stuff to clean up," Jennie said and directly laid on the floor. "Hey Lisa. Why don't you go take a look by yourself," Jennie said kicking Lisa's arm slightly to get her attention.

"What is the point of going back there without you?" Lisa said smiling. "We should go there together!" Lisa annoyingly said and pulled Jennie forcefully to make her stand up from lying down.

"You won't let go?!" Jennie asked angrily. "Come with me!" Lisa pulled her out of the house. "It hurts! Let go!" Jennie complained.

"I think they really have a good relationship," Jisoo's mom commented. "How do you define good relationship? In my point of view, the scene is uncontrollable anger," Jisoo answered and continued eating.

"Hurry up!" Lisa said still pulling Jennie while walking. "It really hurts!" Jennie shouted and freed herself from Lisa.

"It probably hurt earlier," Jennie said to herself while massaging her wrist. "You don't remember events but you remember pain?" Lisa interesting asked.

"I'm hungry. Buy me jjajjangmyun," Jennie ordered Lisa. "You still know hunger? Lisa asked.

"Yes, I know everything. Compared to a foolish person who turned their house into that filth, I know a lot more," Jennie argued. "Who caused it all?!" Lisa shouted and calmed herself when she saw a poop behind Jennie.

"Then...just the two of us walking in this kind of night, you don't know what could happen," Lisa teasingly said. "I don't know that... All I know is that you're a bad person," Jennie stuttering while making small steps back because Lisa was walking toward her.

"Then, you should know this very well too," Lisa said smiling at Jennie. Jennie then stopped when she realized she stepped on something.

"You, stepped in a poop," Lisa told her and laughed so hard.

"Aish!" Jennie disgustedly looked at her slippers. "That's why you should be a good person. Only bad people like you step in poop," Lisa said laughing and left her behind.

Jennie was so mad at Lisa. She hurriedly followed Lisa and wiped her slippers in Lisa's back. Lisa froze in place and Jennie stood beside her.

"You got poop on you. If someone saw you, they might think you had an accident," Jennie plainly said and walked ahead.

"Seriously!!!" Lisa exclaimed.
