Chapter 40

Jisoo's mom and her friends met at the village's grocery store. "Let's go and have fun," Jisoo's mom stated. "Where are we going?" Her friends asked. "This place is a spring spa vacation site. It also has a shower which is the best. The manager there used to like me," Jisoo's mom explained while showing them a flyer of the resort. "Really?" Her friends asked. "Of course," she proudly replied. "We can go too, right?" They asked. "Of course, for free. Let's go," she excitedly said.

They were about to ride the truck when Jisoo's mom saw Jennie arrived at the store. "Ms. Jennie! Come here," she excitedly said and grabbed Jennie's hand. "Where are we going?" She curiously asked. "To a very good place. It's free, get in the truck" Jisoo's mom answered and push Jennie towards the back of the truck.

"You're coming? Sit," One of the friends said. Jennie obeyed and sat in the truck's floor in the middle. When she looked in her left, she was startled to see Joohyun. "You're going too?" Jennie asked and Joohyun nooded. "Are we going to a strange place?" Jennie thought and the truck started to move.

Mr. Lee was at the resort's gate excitedly waiting for them to arrive. When he saw the truck arrived, he ran to meet them in the parking lot. But he was so shocked to see Ruby Jane with them. He quickly called Kai. "What?! Ruby Jane came here?!!" Kai said in panic and left the golf course running.

"Mr. Lee, I came. Introduce yourself. These are my friends," Jisoo's mom told Mr. Lee who was already nervous. "Hello," he greeted while bowing. "What a handsome guy," they commented in response. "What am I going to do? What if the employees see Madam, it will be bad," he thought to himself. 

"Let's go. This way," Jisoo's mom led the way leaving Mr. Lee behind. Mr. Lee quickly ran after them. "Hey! Let's eat first," Mr. Lee suggested as he held the arm of Jisoo's mom stopping them. "We already ate before coming here," Jisoo's mom said as she threw Mr. Lee's hand and continued walking. "We only came her to shower," another friend stated. "Thanks," added Joohyun. Mr. Lee saw Ruby Jane beside Joohyun so he quickly looked away and covered his face.

They were walking towards the entrance of the building when Mr. Lee stood in the middle of the way. "Oh right. The spa had some problems today," he reasoned out. "We will just use the water," Jisoo's mom replied as she pushed him away. "Cold water works too. We'll bear with it," a friend stated pushing Mr. Lee too. Mr. Lee saw Ruby Jane again and he quickly looked away.

They were about to get inside the building when Mr. Lee blocked the way again. "There's nothing special here. There's nothing to see," he insisted. "It's just water we are using," Jisoo's mom replied as she pushed him again away. "There's nothing special about the water," Mr. Lee stated still standing in the middle. When he saw Ruby Jane again, he quickly gave way to her. "It's all over! It's all over!" He thought nervously when he saw they got inside the building. Kai then arrived. "Where? Where?" He asked in panic. "There, you came late," pointing at the entrance.

Kai anxiously observed between Ruby Jane and the employees. "Where is the spa?"Jisoo's mom asked the receptionist. "Here, this way guest," the receptionist answered leading them the way and they all followed him.

"Ruby Jane is here. Why is it that no one recognized her?" Kai asked in confuse. "Why has nothing happened?" Mr. Lee responded. "Because she's too different compared to the Ruby Jane they knew. She is too different. So no one noticed," Kai concluded.

"The spa is so comfortable. It's great," Jisoo's mom commented while walking out the spa. "The water was great," a friend complimented. "It was pretty good," said another friend. "Hold on, where's Mr. Lee? I have to thank him," Jisoo's mom stated. "Of course we need to thank him," her friend replied. "Let's come here again," they agreed. "Maybe he's busy. Let's go," Jisoo's mom said when she didn't see him. "Ms. Jennie hurry," she added when she saw Jennie behind the group. Kai and Mr. Lee was just observing them in a distance.

They were going to the parking lot when Joohyun saw a house in a distance. "What a pretty house," she commented. "Let's go and play," she added and ran fast straight ahead. "Joohyun! Joohyun!" They called. "What's wrong with her? This crazy girl," they said as they lost sight of her. 

"Why are you looking at me?" Jennie asked when Jisoo's mom looked at her. "Aren't you and Joohyun friends?" She asked. "No," Jennie shortly replied. "We can't catch up with her. And we can't just leave her here wandering around," Jisoo's mom stated. "Yeah," her friends responded. "Got it. I'll go and get her," Jennie replied and ran after Joohyun. 

"My friend, hurry," Joohyun told Jennie who was in a distance as she got inside Kai's villa. Joohyun wandered inside the villa and got inside the living room. "Hello," she greeted the picture inside the picture frame. "Huh? It's my friend," she said to herself when she saw the wedding picture of Jennie. "My friend why are you here? Let's go together," Joohyun told the picture and put the picture frame in her bag.

"What are you doing? Let's go before someone finds us her," Jennie said when she arrived and grabbed Joohyun's hand.

"My friend, why are you here again?" Joohyun was confused while looking at Jennie and the place where the picture frame was put. "You have one or two friends?" Jennie asked her and pulled Joohyun.

They were about to go to the door when they met Kai. Kai was startled to see them. But he was more nervous to see that behind Ruby Jane was the big wedding picture of them. Joohyun went to Kai and bowed. "Hello, she is my friend," she greeted him. "We are not friends," Jennie replied.

"Since we all know each other, let's just leave at this. Sorry," Jennie apologized to Kai. Kai was shocked hearing Ruby Jane saying sorry. He nodded slowly in response. "Thanks," Ruby Jane added and left with Joohyun. "Sorry? Thanks? Ruby Jane really changed," Kai said in disbelief.

Kai and Mr. Lee were looking at Ruby Jane as she climbed at the back of the truck. "Ruby Jane really changed. Changed so much that no one can recognize her," Kai softly said. "Madam isn't Ruby Jane Kim but really Jennie," Mr. Lee responded. "What did I do to her?" Kai sadly contemplated. 

"We're here, get off," Jisoo's mom said when they arrived at the village's grocery store. "It was so comfortable," a friend commented. "We got cleaned but then got stained with dust. It's even more uncomfortable," Jennie uttered. "I'll go ahead," Jennie stated. 

Jisoo's mom and her friends decided to eat at the store. She noticed that Jennie already went. "Ms. Jennie don't go! Let's eat together," she called her. "No, I don't eat with unfamiliar people," Jennie replied. "We're going to drink rice wine," Jisoo's mom said and Jennie quickly went back to them.
