Chapter 15

Lisa was happily painting a mailbox and was even whistling while doing her work. "Lisa, rest for awhile and eat," Jisoo's mom said when she arrived with Jisoo bringing their lunch. "Wait, this is almost done," Lisa answered. Jisoo and her mom went ahead in the office.

"Now that Lisa has a lover, she has become more hardworking. She looks very happy," Jisoo's mom commented. "She is definitely happy. She'll be able to get back all of her investments," Jisoo replied.

"But that woman is a little mentally unstable," Jisoo's mom said. "She just lost her memory. She's not like Joohyun who is completely nuts," Jisoo explained. "Hey! It'd be a big problem if she's like Joohyun. Joohyun is totally crazy, you kid," Jisoo's mom asserted.

"Look at how rundown this store is," Jennie criticized when she arrived at the local grocery store.

"Hello. Nice to meet you," Joohyun, who was standing outside the store near an ice cream freezer, greeted her.

"The weather is warm right?" Joohyun asked her. "It's a little warm," Jennie agreed nodding her head slightly.

"Have some of this then," Joohyun said while offering Jennie an ice cream. "What?" Jennie was confused. "It tastes good, have one," Joohyun said still holding the ice cream. Jennie finally accepted the ice cream and Joohyun picked another one from the freezer for herself and they started to eat.

"It's really warm. Is it going to snow?" Joohyun said while looking at the sky.
Jennie looked at Joohyun when the latter said it.

"It is, right?" Joohyun asked again. Jennie stopped eating and she saw Joohyun put a flower behind her ear. "Am I pretty?" Joohyun asked. "What's wrong with you?" Jennie asked back.

"Joohyun! You mad girl!" Yeri, the store owner, came and slapped lightly Joohyun's arm. "You're stealing ice cream from my store again!" Yeri angrily told Joohyun then looked at Jennie. "And who are you?" Yeri asked Jennie.

"Let's run!" Joohyun told Jennie while grabbing her hand.

"Where are you going?!" Yeri called running after them.

Jennie and Joohyun ran fast. The two got separated when Jennie ran to the underpass and Joohyun went straight.

"Chairman, I'm sorry," Mr. Lee told Kai and stopped the car in the underpass. He excused himself to urinate in the dark part of the area. Kai waited inside the car. He saw a woman running so fast going in their direction. He curiously watched the running woman and didn't clearly saw her face because it was dark. The woman fell on her knees near his car. She slowly stood up helping herself which made her lean in the car's window. Kai was shocked seeing that it was Ruby Jane. Ruby Jane saw Kai too and continued running so fast again. Kai looked at the back of the car and saw Ruby Jane running very fast.

"Chairman, what's wrong?" Mr. Lee asked him when he got inside the car. "Ruby... Ruby... Ruby... Jane.. over there," Kai said stuttering struggling to breath and he fainted.

Jennie ran and ran until she stopped somewhere when she got tired. "Why am I running with this in my hand?" Jennie asked herself while looking at the ice cream she's holding. Suddenly someone tapped her back. "Hey," Joohyun said. "Who are you? Who the hell are you?!" Jennie angrily asked. "Me? I am Joohyun," she calmly said. "Yeri! Yeri! My friend is hiding here," Joohyun called in a loud voice.

"Yeri, I'm sorry. This is the payment for the ice cream," Lisa said while giving Yeri the money inside her store.

"Just take it and hope you understand. She didn't steal it," Jisoo's mom added. "But, is that woman like Joohyun?" Yeri asked. "I'll tell you next time," Jisoo's mom said while looking at Lisa who seemed to be embarrassed.

"I'm sorry," Lisa said apologetic. "So our village has one more crazy woman?" Yeri asked. "Shhh, Lisa can hear you," Jisoo's mom told Yeri.

Jennie was sitting down in the pavement outside the grocery store. She looked at Lisa who went out of the store and looked at Joohyun who was also sitting beside her. Joohyun smiled at Jennie and moved closer to her. "Go away!!" Jennie told Joohyun as she put distance between them. Joohyun kept on getting closer to her and Jennie was also moving far from her. "I told you to go away!!" Jennie said irritatedly. Joohyun just smiled at her.

"Joohyun and Jennie, go and act in a play," Lisa told them disappointedly.

"Lis, given that condition, can you meet your goal?" Jisoo who was also outside the store asked Lisa.

"Hey Jennie. Let's go home," Lisa said plainly and Jennie followed her.

"Who is she? She is crazy right? I knew something was wrong about her! Just one thing! Everything is wrong about this village!" Jennie vented out while they're walking home. "Our village doesn't like you either! It's spreading everywhere now that you are Joohyun's friend! It's so embarrassing. So why did you steal ice cream with Joohyun?" Lisa asked a little bit upset.

"Who said I stole it? I just went to buy bread and she offered me one!" Jennie angrily answered. "You...didn't work, but you went to buy bread?" Lisa asked.

"Yes!! I was hungry and so I went to buy bread!! I searched the whole house and there was nothing to fill my stomach!!" Jennie said fuming. "You...have been hungry the whole day?"Lisa asked with concern in her voice. "That's why, when we're eating, you should have eaten some too," Lisa told Jennie calmly.

"That's enough! Don't act like you are worried," Jennie said flatly. Lisa stopped walking and looked at Jennie. "Do you want some jjajjangmyun?" Lisa asked.

"Never mind, I won't eat anything that is not to my appetite," Jennie said looking away.

"Does it taste that good?" Lisa asked Jennie while she watched the latter eating noodles in the front yard of their house. Jennie just nodded in response. "Yes, eat more then. But Jennie, have you finished your daily routine yet? Shall we take a look?" Lisa said excitedly. Jennie just looked at Lisa who went inside the house as she continued eating.

Lisa quickly noticed the center table in the living room that was covered with a blanket. She uncovered it and saw a pile of clothes and toys under it. She then quickly went to the kitchen to check it. She saw broken bowls and plates in the floor while other utensils were not properly arranged in its place. Next, she went to the bathroom. She found a part of the washing machine on the floor. "I'm about to faint," Lisa said to herself as she don't know what to feel either to be mad or cry.

"JEEEENNNNIIIIEEEEE!" Lisa shouted.
