Chapter 12

(Sunday, 2nd January)

"Ummm..it's about your dad.." She says as she cries even more.

Piper starts to sigh deeply, unsure of what her mom is going to say.

"So basically, your Dad got sent into Hospital around 9PM tonight but we didn't know the results until around midnight, we thought he would only be in hospital for a few nights..but no his cancer is getting worse Piper." She says.

"I'm so sorry"

Piper's voice to get croaked up, like she can't even feel to speak anymore.

"So how did this happen" Piper asks as she sits up at the end of her bed.

Finn starts to wake up and hears her speaking on the phone as it looks very urgent and important and he is very confused of what happening and why she's on the phone at three in the morning.

Her mom sniffles and sighs.

"So...I didn't actually tell you about this part" She says and her daughter starts to get worried.

"Around the Christmas holidays, your Father started feeling queasy and under the weather. He felt feeling tired a lot recently! There is so many reasons Piper he has just not been feeling himself this whole week" She says to her daughter, trying to hold back the tears.

This is definitely not the best way to start 2022.

"But then tonight he was feeling so sick so he went to bed around 8ish, I heard him go to the bathroom after a while he went to bed. But I heard a loud bang downstairs so I went to check and that where he was lying on the floor unconscious." She sobs.

"I immediately knew I had to rush him to a hospital, so I rung Uncle Jimmy to mind the kids. They don't even know so I'm very anxious to tell them" Piper's Mom says.

Piper sniffles as she just learns the shocking news..

"I'm so sorry to give you this news Piper I feel the need to tell all my grown up adult kids, but now I really need to tell James. Both him and Riley are up anyway with their newborn baby" Her mother says.

"No I understand! I love you so much Mom" Her voice cracks.

Piper could hear her Mom's smile through the phone and how badly she missed her parents.

"I love you too hunny" She says.

Piper smiles as she ends the call and she tries to hold back the tears as Finn comes closer to her, she hold back the tears before Finn comforts her. But she eventually she breaks down in Finn's arms sobbing loudly as he has no clue what's going on.

"Pipes Sshhhh it's okay!" Finn comforts his girlfriend, rubbing her back in circles with his thumb.

"Breathe in and out" He says, patting her head as he strokes her hair.

Piper turns to face her boyfriend and cuddles into his chest.

"Do you want to tell me what happened?" Finn asks her.

She deeply sighs as a tear roll downs her face.

He wipes away the tear from her cheek, wrapping his arm round her waist.

"So what happened is that my dad got sent into hospital tonight and he was getting tests done so my mom didn't know what the results would be, then she said to me his cancer is getting way worse as they thought" Piper says, biting her lips trying to not cry again.

"But there could be a chance this Is permanent illness" Finn gives me a worried look and he brings me in a big cuddle.

"He is staying there till he is cured, maybe a year he will be stuck in there" She sighs.
