In fury, Lexi soars up from the sofa. "Think about what you did yesterday that would put me in such a state!"
My eyes widen at the word yesterday. "I don't underst..."
"Ah, let me make you understand, Hazel!" She quickly takes the remote control from the tea-table and turns on the TV.
"Lexi, what's going on?" Leon asks, confused as I'm.
We watch her in complete complexity as her thumb works quickly on her phone, while her other hand presses on the button of the remote and accepts a file she just sent on the Television. My eyes narrowed as she opens the file, and it turns out to be a video, which Lexi immediately starts.
And then, my whole world collapses.
The video is playing the moment of last night where Erden and I were making out.
I blast off from the sofa, unable to believe what is showing in front of me and my parents. I begin to hyperventilate, everything whirling around me.
"What the fucking hell, Lexi!" I quickly rage to her. "Fucking turn this off!"
She promptly steps back, refraining me from snatching the remote from her. "Rather, tell me what the fuck is this, Hazel! How can you sleep with the one I love in my absence!"
My head is throbbing. I can't understand anything.
"I..I-" I wobble, unable to pronounce a word, shame eating me up. I can't even think of glancing at our parents. A lump is formed in my throat as I'm about to break into tears.
"Oh, the cat ate your tongue?" Lexi lets out a humorless chuckle.
"I-I don't understand..." I hardly mouth, barely able to stay in my senses.
"What is so hard to understand, huh?" She aggressively points at the video, screaming out. "Isn't it clear that you are making out with my boyfriend?!"
"Y-you broke up...y-you were not serious." I mutter under my breath, scantly able to form words.
"Yeah, we fought at the party because of you!" She lashes out, wagging at me. "You were always around him that I suspected him! We just decided to take a kind of break, and you straight off jumped on him. He sent me the video showing me that he doesn't need me back to boost his ego!"
At that moment, my heart smashes into pieces. Her words sound like an echo in my head that I just want to stop. My eyes slam shut as I remember that night, a tear rolling down my cheek.
"Wh-what are you doing here?" The words leave my mouth in stutters. "How did you enter?"
Erden licks his lips nervously. "I jumped on your balcony from my roof. The window was opened, so I sneaked in. I was already in your room since around 10 p.m."
"Pardon me?" I mouth in shock.
He smiles guiltily while tilting his head to the side, studying my face. The lamp glow is reflecting in his eyes, but I'm too astonished to admire them more. "What you did in my house in one hour?!" I nearly scream.
My legs feel weak. I try hard to hold myself from succumbing to them. It's as if somebody just stabbed me in the heart, rending me lifeless. Erden has prepared everything since that day. All those days, there was a hidden camera recording me. He was in my room to fucking install the camera!
He played with me. He fucking fooled me, declaring me his feelings! Made me think that we were soulmate! Made me believe that he really changed! Made me vulnerable just to use me! But he is still the monster I created! What more lies was he intending to tell me tomorrow?!
At those thoughts, I can't bear it anymore. Tears begin to delude down my cheeks like a waterfall. My body is shaking, a mix of emotions running in my veins. In rage, I quickly snatch the remote from Lexi and turns off the damn television, before pelting it away on the floor.
"Enough now!" Leon's rough voice resonates throughout the room. But though I heard him, my sense can't register him. My vision is blurred with tears that I can't see my parents properly. I can only discern my mom, who is spiritlessly sitting on the couch, her lips parted in total shocked.
"How could you do that!" Lexi continues, disregarding her father's order. "I loved him, you knew that!"
"L-lexi! He told me that you broke up!" I weep, my voice cracking up. "That there was nothing serious between you. It was just attractanction."
"You believed this liar?!" She laughs phonily. "He is playing with both of us!"
I quiver, her words stabbing the knife deeper into my bleeding wound. He played me. How could he do that to me.
"And the worst is that you didn't hesitate even once, though I'm your sister!"
My back feels cold. Cold with guilt.
"L-lexi, you're misunderstanding everything." I sniff, trying to hold my tears, but it seems impossible.
"You see daddy." She looks at Leon, whose jaw is so clenched that it seems about to break. "You consider her as your own daughter, but she has never thought of us as her family!"
My eyes widen, shaking my head quickly in disagreement. "Nooo-"
"Hazel!" The room silences as Leon pronounces my name sternly. Swallowing hard, I slowly gaze at him.
Deception.
That's the expression on his face while he is staring at me. In shame, my eyes drop to the floor.
"From now one, you will be a stranger in this house." Leon orders through gritted teeth.
There is a pang at my heart.
"Your mother will just take care of you financially till you can move out on your own. The sooner, the better."
I squeeze my eyes shut, unable to believe what I'm hearing. I don't find the courage to lift my head and look at him. The next thing I know is that he storms out of the room, followed by Lexi.
I don't know for how long I've stayed inert in the saloon. It feels impossible to move. The room is totally silent, the sound of me sniveling is the only thing audible.
When I return a little to my senses, I know what is left to do. Find the culprit.
Wiping my tears with my hands, I take a look at my mother, who is still there sitting on the couch, staring blankly at the floor.
"Y-you don't believe me too. Right, mom?"
When she doesn't even glance at me, I nod to myself. My heart is already totally in pieces that there is nothing left to break anymore. I walk out of the room and exit the house, slamming the door behind me.
