Lia

Thomas is kissing me.

I've turned breathless. When I feel his warm lips gently moving against mine, I know it's not a dream. His hand tightens around my back as he kisses me more hardly, making my body engulfs in heat. My mind feels blank, I can't respond nor push him away. But when his tongue quickly darts out and traces the seam of my lips, I can no longer bear the throbs between my legs.

In a rush of excitement, my hand runs in his hair and grips on it, as I kiss him back hungrily. He groans satisfyingly, and soon the kiss turns into a blurring, hot one. Wanting more, Thomas slowly begins walking towards the couch behind us, without ungluing our lips.

But like a thunderbolt, Hazel's face bops in my mind. I snap back to reality and immediately pull away, breathing hard and needingly.

My heart is galloping inside of my chest. What the hell was that.

"Shit." I mutter, rubbing my face. "What the hell you just made me do to Hazel!'

I scream out, my eyes wide. I just betrayed my best friend!

Thomas is gaping at me as he is breathing hard as well. I want to punch him in his face. Why he fucking kissed me first? And the most terrible, embarrassing part is that I enjoyed it and kissed him back.

Cringy like I've always thought, there were butterflies in my stomach, an unfamiliar spark between us, and I've just turned into those girly chicks which I've never used to be.

Shit Lia. Shit.

"I've always liked you, Lia." Thomas declares, blowing away my thoughts.

I blink repeatedly, my mind not responding on hearing what he just said.

Seeing me voiceless, he steps closer to me and nods. "You heard me well. I've always liked you since the beginning when we were all just friends."

Shocked, I can't help but to listen to him.

"We had so many things in common, and I was never bored with you. But you had this strong attitude which made me thought that you would never be interested in someone calm like me. At the same time, I was physically attracted to Hazel and this confused me. I didn't realize that my feelings for you were strong, until me and Hazel started dating." His eyes drop to the floor, then back to my face. "You were leaving us alone so that we spend time as a couple, and as a result, you distanced yourself from me so much. It made me miss you. I was always trying to look for you in Hazel, forced her to share the same passion with me. But she was never you."

My eyes are wide, my body shaking. I can't believe it. All this time he liked me, but he was dating Hazel.

I always have my last words on anything but right now, I have as if transformed into another person.

"I just didn't have the courage to tell her and you." His voice tears up a little. "I'm so sorry."

"I-I—" I mumble, too shocked to speak properly. "I don't know what to say... I just know that we both betrayed Hazel."

Tears flood my eyes. How can I do that to my other half.

"Hey, hey." Thomas cups my face in his hands. "Don't cry."

I look at him, feeling strangely comforted. His white teeth gleam as he smiles at me, his dark eyes looking right into my green ones. My heart strangely begins to beat fast. Why is he having this effect on me?
