Chapter 1: Beginning

Year 842:

Y/n: "Mom look at what I just made!!"

You were helping your mom make dinner and managed to do it by yourself.

Mom: "That's great y/n now don't forget to keep an eye on it."

Your mom quickly left the room to get changed into new clothes since she was out earlier collecting firewood. You realised she never spoke about Dad but all you knew was that he died a couple of days after you were born.

???:*knock*knock*

Mom: "Coming!!"

Your mom quickly opened the door to see the military police at your house.

Mom: "How can I help you today?" She asked slightly intimidated by the soldier at the end.

As soon as she said that a loud bang was heard as your mom dropped dead from the second MP's musket.

Second MP: "Right now just for the little brat!"

First MP: "Jesus man, really had to shoot her in the eye?!"

Second mp: "less complaining and more hunting."

During this commotion, your instincts kicked in as you quickly opened the back window running away from the two MPs. You thought you were safe but then the second MP spotted you.

Second mp: "Hey come back you brat!!"

You tried to run into the city of Shiganshina however as fear overtook you your legs stopped working causing the MPs to catch up to you.

As the second MP tried to grab you, you quickly went to grab the knife in his shoe creating a huge gash in his neck

First MP: "You bastard you'd die for that!!" The man started running to you and in a moment of panic, you slashed the blade cutting off his ear.

First MP: "Ah shit!!" He then quickly grabbed you and started strangling you to death until you were able to slip out and take his knife in his shoe stabbing him right in the neck

Y/n: "No it appears you'd die for what you did." You then headed into the city looking to start a new life as you were presumed dead.

Timeskip year 845:

Past 3 years you have been living on the streets stealing to scrape by and live by yourself. You missed the times that you spent with your mom and you always wanted to know who your real dad was.

One day a boy with a girl's face and shoulder-length blonde hair came up to you with a piece of bread.

???: "Hey you hungry." He said in a worried tone.

You were confused about why someone would be nice to you since for the past 3 years you have had enough fighting for everything.

Y/n: "Umm yeah thank you."

???: "My name is Armin Arlert what's yours!!" He said as a smile crept onto his face

Y/n: "My name is y/n L/n." You remained reserved, still sceptical about the boy.

Armin: "I saw you here all by yourself for nearly every day so I thought I'd come and see if you were alright." You were surprised by his compassion for someone he didn't even know.

Y/n: "Well thanks. I have been pretty lonely."

Armin:" Well I'll have to show you to my two friends Eren and Mikasa."

Y/n: "Sounds nice!!" as a small smile starts to appear on your face

TIMESKIP

You were casually walking around after stealing some bread from a stall when you then heard a distant shout of your name

As you turned you were surprised to see Armin with two other kids. A raven-haired girl with lifeless grey eyes and a red scarf. You then paid attention to the boy who had dark brown hair and emerald green eyes with a piercing glare.

Y/n:" What's up Armin?"You said

Armin: "Nothing much. Bring those friends I told you about!" He then pointed to the girl with raven hair and said her name was Mikasa

Y/n: "Nice to meet you I'm y/n." She nearly nodded in your direction

Armin: "this is Eren." He then pointed to the seemingly pissed-off kid

Eren: "Hey y/n." He said in a low bored tone

Y/n thoughts: "What's his problem."

Before You could say anything Armin's grandfather called him to head back leaving you alone with Eren and Mikasa

You ended up helping them collect sticks or more like you helped Mikasa while Eren slept.

When he woke we began heading back to his house and we started talking before we were stopped in front of a garrison guard called Hannes

Hannes: "Hey Eren who's the new kid."

Eren:" You smell of alcohol, Hannes!! And his name is y/n." You stood silently as they talked. You noticed how passionate Eren was about going outside the walls.

If there was one thing you hated the most was the idealistic, single-minded crap that people spat out. However, you were surprised and shook by what he said and started to think about it

You realised you had to get going and gave the sticks to Eren but you just wanted to get away from everyone.

After your mom's death, you liked to be by yourself most of the time and rarely socialised with anyone.
