"Look!" I held up a freshly made burgundy beanie, "for you, so you can switch between your other two grimy ass hats."

"My beanies are not grimy" He said with an offended tone, yet he still had a heartwarming smile upon his lips, "Thank you."

"Anytime," I accepted his gratefulness, "What should I make next?"

"Make one of those cat-ear beanies for Vee," He said, concentrating on the newest Helga video that was uploaded earlier today, (Being loyal Helga fans had to keep up with the new content).

"Ooh good idea," I nodded, grabbing the yarn basket off of our coffee table, "What color?"

"A nice green would work well with her hair," Alex explained, and I nodded imagining Luvena's golden locks.

"Perfect, Thank you."

"No problem." He said softly, giving me an easy smile, "Oh wait, here's compensation—"

"Compensation?" I ask as Alex pulls out a wallet,

"yes."

"Stop giving me money." I swat away at the bill he attempts to give me, "Also why do you have multiple 100$ just...randomly?"

"Mr. Beast money," He said easily, (because having Mr. Beast's money is a totally normal thing to have), "I'm living here, I pay rent."

"You can pay me later or something," I sighed, running a hand through my currently cherry red hair. Alex gave me a rather suspicious look, yet didn't take back the money.

"I should quit my job." I sighed, leaning against my palm as I thought deeply.

Alex turned to me in pure shock, "You have a job?!"

"Krispy Kreme." I answered, "I haven't clocked in in two months."

"Hate to break it to you....but I don't think you work there anymore." He winced, "better put your two weeks in."

"you're so funny and hilarious." I deadpanned, grabbing the laptop from the coffee table, "go into comedy, you'll get big bucks from it."

"You're so attractive when insulting me." Alex said confidently, in which I flipped him off, silently typing on the computer, "really, you should do it more."

"f*ck off," I chuckled lightly, glancing at the yarn tangled between his hands, "As if I don't insult you enough already."

"Yeah but the ones that shake your core just hit different ya know?"  Although I laughed at his remark I began to question my taunts towards him. Less than 20 minutes ago he was offering me another hundred dollars and for what? A sh*tty roommate who's overall insecurity around trusting people overtakes her feelings for them. The room got quiet for a moment, only the sound of Helga's ambient music and the clacking of crochet hooks could be heard. God why was he so generous.

"Hey, do you wanna do something?" I said, finally breaking the silence. I don't know what I was doing considering I had nothing planned but for once I wanted to initiate a potential memory between us.

"Um hello? Is Helga not enough for you?"

"No I mean something more eventful Alex, we're 20 and sitting on the floor crocheting hats for our kids who are out living their lives right now" I smiled at his sarcasm,
