Remus stood outside of 345 Broadco Street Cambell

He didn't walk up to the door, he didn't peek through the window, he didn't put a letter in the white, metal letterbox that was standing outside the house, just a few feet away from him. Remus just stood out the house, standing still as the wind ran across his face.

He wasn't even sure if this was his house, since he wasn't very good at reading as no one in the hideout had taught him the basics of reading and writing. But, there was something about this place this gave him this odd familiarity, that made this spark of warmth light up in his chest and this house gave him this weird tingle of nostalgia.

So, was this was where I used to live? Remus thought, Kinda basic

Remus would've been much more excited and willing to go back to his family if they lived in some mansion, like the Potters house, although he couldn't really talk as he'd lived in a hole for most of his life.

He felt this weird feeling of unease settle in his stomach as he watched the curtains on the inside of the window shift, Remus flinched, thinking someone inside was opening the curtains, but, no one appeared at the window and Remus assumed it was just the movement of a fan inside.

Remus tapped his foot on the grass, fiddling with his oversized pants, he didn't really know what to do now? He didn't even know why he came here? Remus just told himself that it was because he wanted to see what his house looked like. But, he knew, deep down that it was because he wanted to see he wanted to see a sneak peek of the life that Remus would've had, the life that he would've had if Fenrir didn't take him away that fateful night.

Every second he stood on the grass, the thought of walking up to the door and knocking on the dark wood, but each time he took a step forward, a jolt of fear would send him back to his original position.

Maybe he should just go? Maybe he should come back here another day? Even though he felt disappointed that he wasted all his time asking people on the street where 'Bradco Street' and 'Cambell' was, he didn't have the slightest bit of confidence to approach the house.

Maybe I should walk around the house

That seemed like a good option.

Remus moved around the house, trying to look through the windows, but they were all covered with the same white curtain, as he walked along the house, his hand trailing along the bricks, he could hear the faint clinking of something that sounded like metal, which meant that someone was inside, Remus felt uneasy and he quickened his pace along the house, trying to keep quiet,

He reached the end of the house and sighed, looking up and down at the fence that was at the end, as he looked to the window right next to him,

He quietly gasped, other than the other windows, this one didn't have any curtains on them, he rushed to the window and placed his hands on the sill and looked inside.

Whatever room this was, someone obviously didn't take very good care of it.

Even standing outside of the window, Remus could see the layers of dust on the floor, he could see the dust that was covering on the photo's that were sitting on the walls or on the tables in the room. It looked like a kids room-

Wait-

Was this my room?

Remus edged closer to the window, feeling a weird sense of longing wake up inside of him. Remus looked down at the window.

The window was slightly open.

It was open.

Apparently Remus' parents didn't care if someone broke into their house, but, that was pretty obvious considering how Fenrir told Remus of how easy it was to break into his house and take him.

Remus hesitated,

Should he enter?

But, there was someone in there-

Screw it Remus thought as he slowly opened the window, he would just look around his room and then leave, that was it, if he could escape an orphanage, and the hideout twice, he could sneak into his house without getting caught?

The window was fully open and Remus tried to quietly heave himself into the room, luckily, it was pretty easy too and he quietly landed in the room, Remus cringed as the floorboards creaked under his weight, he rubbed a small bruise that had formed on his leg after hitting himself on the window sill, his feet felt itchy from the dust that was collecting in his feet, but, it didn't bother him, his feet had been dirtier.

Remus looked around the room.

It was a simple room, nothing too special, a twin bed with blue covers sat on the side of the wall, near the window, the sheets were crumpled and there was a few ants crawling on it, Remus looked at the photo's that were hanging on the wall at the end of the room, he walked forward, he could feel his heart beating with adrenaline,

He was walking before he felt something soft squish underneath his feet, Remus looked down on the floorboards, too see he stepped on a blue rabbit, it ears were floppy and it's beaded, black eyes were staring right into Remus's soul, there was dust and lint covering the bunny,

Remus was hit then with a wave of memories,

He suddenly thought about memories he didn't even know he had

The memories weren't very clear, they were more like snippets of his past but, they were all the same, images of some chubby hands holding this small, bunny,

Remus ducked to the ground and snatched the bunny off the ground, holding it in his hand as he clutched the soft bunny in his dirty hand.

Remus was gonna look around the room, until,

He heard footsteps outside the room,

Remus felt his palms grow sweaty and his stomach flipped like a pancake,

The footsteps got louder, they thumped against the floorboards, making the floorboards creak,

Remus glanced at the open window, the wind flying into the room and brushing his cheek, his heartbeat felt loud,

He couldn't take any chances,

He ran towards the window, not caring that the floorboards creaked and thumped loudly under his feet, he reached the window and tried to heave himself over the window sill, it took him a few tries as his hands were fumbling, sweaty and one of them was clutching the rabbit, making it hard for him to get a grip on the sill, finally, he lifted himself over and landed on the grass outside and ran, he ran like he'd done a million times before.

*****

Hope wasn't planning to enter Remus's room,

But, when she heard the loud thumping coming from inside she thought she should take a look.

She opened the door to find that the window was wide open.

But, she gasped when she saw Binky wasn't there.
