Chapter 3 - The children's home

Right after our return, we went to two other properties, where we did not notice any unnatural activity. We could have saved our time. It turned out that the teenagers who supposedly saw ghosts in one of the objects were just lying to get on TV. And the other object was just newly occupied by a family and of course they didn't want us to shoot at their house.

After a break of two weeks, we set off for the next location. This time it was going to take us to an old abandoned children's home. In this children's home, as I found out during my research, the children were supposed to have been experimented on with high doses of medication and drugs. Some children are said to have died and now haunt the old walls as ghosts.

So we set off again and were once again full of hope that we might see a ghost and be able to capture it on a picture or video. Whereby I should mention here perhaps once, I can also do without seeing ghosts. I am afraid of ghosts and also of darkness. But thanks to my hobby, my job and my curiosity, I still keep going to these alleged haunted houses.

We didn't expect anything from the new location at first. Because it's better to approach these things without any expectations. But to sell the documentary better, it would have been better to include something like a ghost, of course.

After a two-day journey, we finally arrived at our destination. A property manager handed us the keys and left us at the front door. He had only informed us that we would have electricity for two days and that we had to leave the building after these two days.

Our new producer Walter, Lina did not want to go into any abandoned building after the experiences in the insane asylum, additionally assured him that we would not change or destroy anything. But the property manager just shrugged his shoulders, he didn't care what happened to the children's home. He even said that if it were up to him, he would have torn it down long ago.

Walter handed the keys to Gary and we filmed him opening the door and describing his first impressions. Basically always the same, it was dark, cold and seemed spooky. Then Gary explained what I had researched earlier about the orphanage.

He told about the experiments and how in January 1952, 8 children disappeared in just one night and were never found. At that time it was suspected that the director of the children's home had something to do with the disappearance of the children. It was assumed that she sold them and simply staged that they disappeared. But nothing could ever be proven against her.

When four more children disappeared in March 1953, hundreds of people joined together to search for them. But again they found no trace of the children and again the director of the home was suspected. Since they could not prove anything this time, they simply dismissed her and hired a new director.

The new director took all the files she could find and wanted to find out what had happened to all the children who had been cared for by the former director in over 22 years. She also found out that there were these experiments and that many children died in the experiments and their bodies were just buried in the garden and it was never reported.

And after that came out, it was assumed that maybe the missing children died too and were buried somewhere. But because it was so many children at one time, the old home director couldn't cover it up and reported the children missing. As proof of the theory, they had that since the disappearance of these 8 children, the experiments had stopped, at least for 4 months.

The new director of the home immediately ended the cooperation with the pharmaceutical company and announced a major investigation into the death of the children and the disappearance of the total of 12 children. But this never happened. Since she had been forbidden from the city administration to interfere in this matter again. She was supposed to finally give up and just do her job.
