Sighing I pull a book out of the shelf. Today marks me and my boyfriends one year anniversary and here I was in a library reading while he was out on a case catching peoples worst nightmares. Suddenly I feel buzzing in my pocket grabbing my phone I answer
"Hey Spence" I greet with a small smile on my face
"Look I'm so sorry I can't be there today I know its out one year-" "Spence" I cut him off "It's fine I know you're doing important work and when you catch your bad guy you'll be home besides we can always celebrate when you get home" I hear him sigh on the other side of the line "Thank you" I smile
"Well I just picked out a really good book about criminology" I speak eagerly I really wanted to know more about spence's job so I've been reading about it more often I even bought a book about psychology and profiling I would say for not having an eidetic memory I was learning a lot I hear spence chuckle
"Love, you know you don't have to read about that right" I gasp quietly being slightly dramatic as usual "I actually find it very interesting" I grab another book off the shelf
"You know you aren't to old to go to college you're only 20" I laugh
"Spence I love the idea of the job but It's a scary thing to do" Silence "Wait you're being dead serious" I say only slightly whisper he hums in response
"It wouldn't be the worst idea" he mutters I look at the book in my hand
"I think I'll stick with my reading" He lets out a soft chuckle "That's okay I would worry about you too much anyway, hey look Hotch is calling for me I got to go love you" I hear a beep in my ear indicating he hung up smiling softly and walking forward I stop dead in my tracks

Did he just say he loved me?
We both knew we loved each other it was mutual but we've never said it, it was shown through small gestures like how he would read you to you when you weren't able to sleep, or how you read about his job trying to grow closer to him a smile grows on my face and I continue walking.
