Moonlight: A BL Fanfiction

Chapter 2

Yan Fei just graduated from university. Unlike Pin Jun, he had no wish to leave the country. He was happy finishing his Bachelors degree and wanted to move to Taipei soon to look for a job. But before that he needed to visit Taipei to get an idea of the place. Also there is Hai Qing that he was desperate to locate and meet in person.

Hai Qing had turned down his offer to meetup twice on two different occasions. But they have been chatting for months now, maybe Hai Qing would not mind meeting him now.

Yan Fei called his best friend and fixed the plan.

He packed his suitcase and was ready to leave for his trip to Taipei.

He told his best friend that there was a romantic interest involved in this trip.

The day to embark on this journey arrived soon.

"You seem so excited, he must be someone special," the friend said over the phone.

"He is," Yan Fei exclaimed, before picking his bag up and leaving out the door. Destination Taipei.

Pin Jun returned home from a day out with friends and messaged Hai Qing, "You know I got lost today?"

"What? Elaborate."

"So I am pretty bad with directions. Without my chaffeur, I am a lost puppy. I would be roaming the streets forever and never be able to get back home if not for him.
So today he was late to pick me up from the restaurant as he was dropping my father off at a meeting. My friends had to leave early. I was waiting outside the restaurant and thought I should walk around and explore the area. Don't know why I got that idea!

"Because you are a curious person." Hai Qing replied.

"Well yes, true. So I forgot to keep track of the way and I am so bad with Google Maps. Before I knew it, I was lost. After many phone conversations with my chauffeur, I was able to make him recognize the place I had wandered off to. Apparently I had walked to the next neighbourhood."

Hai Qing laughed and typed, "Wow! You are a piece of work."

"I am, right? So proud of myself." Pin Jun joked.

Hai Qing loved his sense of humour.

Pin Jun typed, "And please have enough time in your hand. I want to sit with you and talk for hours."

Hai Qing blushed reading the message and thought, "He wants to spend more time together."

Reaching Taipei, Yan Fei went to the hotel he booked. He specifically booked this hotel because it was in the neighbourhood where Hai Qing lives, based on the GPS reading on Grindr. He was hoping to bump into Hai Qing one of these days and act like it was all fate.

Did he manipulate the situation to increase the chance of meeting Hai Qing?
No way! Yeah, just kidding.
Hell yeah, he did.

After freshening up, Yan Fei called his best friend for a meetup. It had been years since they met.

Hanging up, Yan Fei texted Hai Qing, "Guess where I am!"

"Where?" Hai Qing replied.

"In your city, Taipei. Remember I told you I was looking for work in Taipei. So I came on a visit to get an idea of the city."

"Oh a trip. Sounds so much fun. Ask me for recommendations of food or places to visit if needed," Hai Qing was a helpful person. Always.

"Maybe you could take me there yourself?" Yan Fei typed, pushing his luck.

"We will see, if I can manage time from work."

Yan Fei took that as half glass full. It is not a no. It is a maybe.

And here Hai Qing was making plans with Pin Jun to meet up tomorrow. Manage time you say?

"Where are we meeting tomorrow?" Hai Qing messaged Pin Jun.

"There is a cafe near my house. I can walk back home from there if you plan to ditch me," Pin Jun was always making jokes.

"I will not, I will be there on time," Hai Qing reassured him, even though he knew it was a joke.

He was too nice. And he cared about making Pin Jun feel comfortable.

In the evening, Yan Fei went out to meet his best friend.

Pin Jun came rushing for a hug as soon as he saw Yan Fei.

These two best friends were meeting after a gap of two long years after all.
