Yan Fei then took a pause, processed the information and asked, "What did the text say exactly? Did he realize he loves you after staying there alone for six months?"

"He called me his soulmate. That is the best thing he could say to me." Hai Qing replied, being emotional.

Not what Yan Fei was asking but okay, you are too emotional right now Hai Qing. We'll give you that.

But Yan Fei needed answers.
"So he is not autosexual anymore? Will you two be in a relationship?" Yan Fei was confused.

"No, his love for me is platonic. Not sexual. There will be no sex. We will be what we were here - best friends," Hai Qing paused and then added with a smile, "and soulmates."

Yan Fei followed up, "But you are not asexual. What about your love and your sex life?"

Hai Qing replied in an instant, which meant he was clear in his mind, "Sex does not matter to me really. Not everyone is sexual. I can live without sex. Pin Jun means more to me than that. I can spend my whole life with him without having sex. And love is there. I might not get the romance like those romcoms on TV but I will get love from him - the love and care of a best friend, and that is more than enough for me."

Yan Fei had nothing more to say. It seemed Hai Qing had made his choice.
Hai Qing was moving to Japan.

Hai Qing finally got to reply to Pin Jun's text. He took a deep breathe and replied, "Yes, I will. I will move to Japan for you."

Hai Qing was so excited that his eyes were sparkling. Yan Fei fell in love with Hai Qing once again at that moment. Hai Qing's skin was glowing in happiness. The excitement oozed out of his skin. It seemed like he got a new life after these six months of sadness.

Yan Fei tried so hard to make Hai Qing feel better. His efforts were constant and untiring. But he could only give Hai Qing momentary happiness until Hai Qing went back into his state of missing Pin Jun. And here comes one text from Pin Jun and Hai Qing becomes rejuvenated.

Yan Fei got shown that no matter how much he tried, Hai Qing's happiness lied with Pin Jun. He had to let Hai Qing go away from him and hide his pain deep inside.

Yan Fei said, "Can I accompany you to the airport?"
His voice seemed melancholic. He could not mask his emotions.

"Yes. Of course," Hai Qing replied in a soft tone, understanding Yan Fei's state.

Sitting in the darkness with fairy-lights on and some light music, Hai Qing was weaving dreams and Yan Fei was fighting his tears.

"Can I use your laptop to book the ticket? I want to get the earliest flight." Hai Qing had a broad smile on his face. So much excitement in his eyes. He tried to hide his happiness because of Yan Fei's condition but could not hide his happiness.

Yan Fei faked a smile and nodded, hiding his pain.

It is not like Hai Qing did not understand Yan Fei's feelings. He knew Yan Fei liked him and he appreciated Yan Fei's efforts to always make him feel special but when his heart was not in it, he could not do anything about it. He couldn't force himself to develop feelings for Yan Fei. He tried to do that during these six months but could not.

You can't force yourself to love someone. Your heart chooses who it wants to love. You have zero control over it.

Hai Qing used Yan Fei's laptop to book the flight for two days later. He needed the next day for packing everything and saying his goodbyes to his people living here in Taipei.

Pin Jun just came out of the shower when he got Hai Qing's text, "I booked my flight. I am coming day after tomorrow."

Pin Jun screamed, "Yesss! Yes! Yes! Yes!"
