Chapter 14

Hai Qing ran fast to catch up with Pin Jun before he entered the gate.
Pin Jun was already at the gate. He put his luggage on a trolley and was about to push it inside.

Hai Qing came and grabbed his hand, stopping him. Pin Jun turned and saw him. The first tear from his eye dropped. Hai Qing acted with his reflex and did not let it roll down Pin Jun's face. He rubbed it off with his fingers.

Pin Jun hugged him tight, "Where were you? I was going to leave without meeting you."

"There was so much traffic today and Yan Fei came late to pick me up too. He wasn't getting a taxi. But I am here now. I am here." Hai Qing tightened his hug. This was the last physical contact he was going to get with Pin Jun. Who knows when they would meet next.

Pin Jun would get busy with his studies in Japan and it was not a cheap journey to Japan either that Hai Qing would go visit whenever he wanted. It would cost him a great deal of money. Hai Qing wished he was one of those people favoured by the capitalist God so he could make multiple trips to Japan to see Pin Jun. Unfortunately, it would not be possible as he was not lucky enough. The capitalist God was not lenient with him. So this was it. He hugged Pin Jun as long as he could. He did not want to let go because this meant the end. He was leaving. Hai Qing's heart hurt. He wanted to cry but his heart felt so heavy his breathing was getting shallow. No tears falling but eyes were watery.

Pin Jun broke the hug as he had to leave now or he would miss his flight.

By then, Yan Fei had walked up to them. Pin Jun said his goodbye to Yan Fei and then took a last long look at Hai Qing. Hai Qing was looking at Pin Jun all this time. His heart broke. Only someone who got their heart broken knows how this feels. It felt like someone was pushing down on his chest, making it difficult for him to breathe. His eyes had warm tears, clinging to his eyelids unable to decide whether to stay there or fall apart.

As Pin Jun walked away, the tears decided to fall. Hai Qing now broke into tears. His chest vibrated up and down as the cries started to form. Yan Fei held him as he broke down.

Pin Jun had to control his emotions as he had so much left to do inside the airport. He was already missing Hai Qing. He wanted to run outside and see Hai Qing one more time. But that was just a mere wish now.

When Yan Fei got out of the car and saw Hai Qing running towards Pin Jun, he felt the love. Only someone who has felt love themselves can feel the love of others. That moment he felt Hai Qing's love for Pin Jun. His heart broke too. He realized no matter how much he tried, Hai Qing's heart would never be his. It belonged to Pin Jun. Even if Pin Jun didn't love him back, he would still let Pin Jun have his heart. Yan Fei had lost. But his heart was with Hai Qing and he could not let Hai Qing be alone. So he walked slowly so as to give Hai Qing and Pin Jun enough privacy to say their goodbyes. And he was there to console Hai Wing when Pin Jun left.

The worst part for him was he was hurting too but he was not the hero of this story. So no one cared about his feelings. Don't second leads have feelings?
