The next day, Chris walked into her office, miserable. She missed Andrew, even though they spoke on the phone the night before when she arrived back home. She was exhausted by the time she got back into her apartment, the phone call didn't last long. Now, she had to push everything she was feeling behind so she could get back to work.
"Look who's finally back," Jami, Chris' best friend who worked at the agency, walked into her office. "I was beginning to think you weren't going to come back."
"Trust me, it was almost tempting not to come back," Chris laughed.
"That hard leaving him?" Jami asked.
"It seems to get harder and harder each time," Chris sighed. "And him not wanting me to leave didn't make it any easier."
"You do know you could've called in for a vacation while you were out there. I mean, wasn't the reason you went to LA in the first place was because of work?"
"Yeah, but look at all these papers left on my desk when I got in this morning," Chris pointed to the stack. "Louis said he had calls for these celebrities looking for new agents and he thought it was best they went under me."
"That's because they know who the best agent is in this office," Jami said. "I'm surprised you're not Andrew's agent."
"We decided when we started dating it was best he stayed with his agent. That way we keep our private lives separate from our professional lives."
Jami took a seat on the couch in Chris' office. "So, how are things going between the two of you?"
"Good," Chris was confused. "Why?"
"No reason. Just wondering, that's all. How long have the two of you been together now?"
"Ten years."
"No wonder it's getting harder for the two of you to go separate ways with your jobs. You've been together so long," Jami said.
"You could be onto something with that," Chris said. "Lately, that's how it's feeling when I have to leave or he has to leave."
"How long until he's back here?"
"He's hoping in a month. He's got some work to do here before they start filming Tick Tick Boom. He's finishing up Mainstream now and then he's got one more movie before he's here for filming."
"You know, I have to say, I've never seen a couple more perfect for each other than the two of you. That man loves you. I see the way he looks at you whenever he's at the office events."
"Thanks," Chris smiled.
There relationship was far from perfect. Then again, what relationship was? They'd been together for ten years, but there were times when the broke up for a short period of time only to realize they couldn't live without each other. But that was in the beginning of the relationship. Now, the two of them would never consider breaking up.
Chris went through the rest of the work day, spending most of her time on the phone with new clients. She already had a long list of clients under her and now, about ten more were adding. This meant she was going to be busy most of the time and she hoped this wouldn't keep her and Andrew apart more than it already had been.

That night, Chris got ready for bed. The first day back in the office after being away for a few months was exhausting. She climbed into the bed when her phone rang. Her heart skipped a beat when she saw it was a FaceTime coming in from Andrew.
"Hey baby," she answered his call.
"Babe!" Andrew's face light up when he saw his girlfriend. "I didn't catch you at a bad time, did I?"
"There's never a bad time for you to call," Chris smiled.
"I was thinking of you all day," Andrew smiled.
"Really? That must've gone well while you were filming," Chris laughed.
Andrew laughed. "Yeah, had to re-do some scenes cause of that. I just missed you so much, I couldn't help it."
"I missed you too." Chris couldn't take her eyes off of her boyfriend on her screen. For this new movie he was filming, he looked different with blonde hair. It wasn't her favorite look of his, but she knew it would be gone once he was finished filming the movie.
"How was the first day back at the office?"
"Exhausting," she laughed. "When I got there, there were ten new clients added to my list. Looks like I'm going to be busy."
"That's because they know you're the agent to have," Andrew said.
Chris blushed and the two of them talked for the next two hours until Chris realized it was getting late.
"Andrew," she looked down at her bed before looking back up him. "I really do hate this. You know. Us being apart."
"I hate it too," he sighed.
"And I'm afraid with the more clients I take on, the more this is going to happen. It's only by pure luck the times I can be wherever you're filming or you have free time to stay here with me."
"Well, you do know that after I film Tick Tick Boom, I am going to have time off before filming anything. It's just going to be talk shows. So you know what that means," he gave her that smile she loved so much. Every time she saw him smile, it melted away all her problems in the world.
"You mean..." Chris couldn't believe what she was hearing. If Andrew was going to be taking some time off, then he would be spending his time here.
"I will be with you, enjoying our time together in our place. And if you can take a vacation, a trip to the beach? Just you and me. Not worrying about anything except us being alone."
Chris was touched. She did have vacation time coming up and she could use it after working all these months without a break.
"I love the sound of that," she smiled.
"I had a feeling you would. I better let you go before it gets too late." Tears started to well up in his eyes. "I love you."
Seeing him cry only made Chris cry. "I love you too."
