The two of them laid in each other's arms. The celebrating of the news ended up being nothing but cuddling and talking, something the two of them desperately needed. Andrew leaned over and kissed the top of her head.
"I still can't believe this is happening," he said, tears falling from his eyes again.
Chris had tears in her eyes, which happened every time she saw Andrew cry. "Me either."
Andrew rested his head on top of Chris' and closed his eyes, trying to soak in the moment. After all these years, he was finally going to be a father.
"Andrew, what are you thinking?" Chris broke the silence in the room.
"Just, everything," he sighed. "You know, all we've been through the past ten years. And now look at us. Getting married and starting a family." He placed his hand on her belly.
Chris smiled and intertwined her fingers with his. "I'm really glad you're going to be here. That's what worried me the most, that I was going to have to do it alone."
"That's one thing I would've made sure never happened. Even if I was busy working on a project, I would've made sure to be with you every chance I could."
*****
Chris woke up the next morning to find Andrew sleeping with his head by her stomach. She reached down and ran her fingers through his hair and he stirred in his sleep.
"Babe?"
Andrew opened his eyes and looked up at his fiance. "Morning," he smiled.
"Morning. What are you doing down there?" She laughed.
Andrew got up and laid down next to Chris. "I couldn't sleep with all the excitement from yesterday, so I decided to talk to the baby. I know, there's no point in doing it now, but still, just wanted to."
Chris smiled and messed with his hair. "I think that is just the cutest. I can't wait to see you with the baby when they're born."
Andrew leaned back on his pillow and smiled. "I can't wait for that too." He turned to Chris. "While you were asleep, I was thinking about the wedding."
"Oh? And what about it?"
"I know we never discussed when it was going to be, especially when I had to leave so soon after our vacation. Originally, I thought it would be next year. But like you said, things are different now and I totally understand why you'd want to have the ceremony earlier now. So, I think that's what we should do."
"You do?" Chris couldn't believe it. Andrew wasn't kidding when he said he would take care of everything. "But...when?"
"I haven't figured that much out yet. The baby is due in August, right? That's seven months away. So, I'm thinking maybe sometime in March? Or is that too late? I know you said you wanted it before you start showing."
"No...March would be perfect. But how will we be able to plan everything in two months?" Chris asked.
"What did I tell you? Don't worry about a thing. I will plan it all out," Andrew leaned over and kissed her. "I don't want you to worry about anything but our little baby."
*****
Andrew kept his word and took control of planning the wedding. He didn't want anything or anyone to stress out Chris. His main concern was his fiance and unborn child and he would do anything to protect the two.
Chris walked into the living room and saw Andrew sitting on the couch with magazines and papers all over the table. "You weren't kidding when you said you were taking care of everything," she said, noticing the wedding magazines on the table. "But, there's got to be something for me to do."
