Chapter 15: Sunday Morning

Aurora

As Davian predicted, the other two bands submitted their songs by Saturday while we did on Thursday. Now, we had to patiently wait for Monday afternoon when the results would be out.

It was only Sunday morning now.

The last two days passed by in a blink. I dedicated Friday evening and late night after rehearsal to catching up on my studies. On Saturday, I face-timed with my dads for a long time in the morning, then in the afternoon, I watched the last two episodes of Love Musical: Season 10 which I had left pending. The best part was the evening when all three boys and I were gathered in the living room and decided to play Uno. It was ruthless, yet hella fun. We even ended up forgetting about dinner while playing.

This morning was quite the same as the last morning. Jaxon was sleeping. Declan was in his room doing whatever he did. Davian didn't return from the gym yet, while I was waiting for Nina to bring breakfast for us. However, I couldn't gossip with my dads to pass time because they said they were going on a breakfast date this morning.

I was extremely bored.

Suddenly, an idea came into my mind.

I knocked lightly on Declan's door, but he didn't respond at first. I wondered if he was asleep. He was usually an early riser, so I knocked louder.

"Come in," he finally called out, and I opened the door and peeked my head inside.

"Hey, Dee, are you busy?"

He was at his desktop, seeming to play games online with his headphones on, which must be why he hadn't heard me first. But he also had a closed book right in front of him with a bookmark tucked in, as if he was reading in between cooldowns or matches.

"Depends on what you intend to say next," he said.

"Why do we have to wait for Nina to bring breakfast for us? She brings food from the restaurant here in LM territory, right?" I asked, and he nodded his head, his eyes trained on the computer screen, keeping track of the game.

He averted his eyes from the screen to ask, "So what are you suggesting?"

I smiled widely. "What if, from now on every day, we eat breakfast together by going there?"

Declan shook his head with a small smile. "Not possible, Aura. You saw our morning routines. It's completely different. No one would do this. Why bother going through the trouble when Nina brings it for us every day?"

"But—" Before I could say something more, Declan's character in the game resurrected and he got to fighting, no longer paying attention to me.

I frowned and got out, only to find Davian just entering the dorm, dressed in a black tank top and gray joggers. He was about to head straight to his room, but I called him, "Davian."

He paused to look at me. He waited for me to speak further.

"I was just suggesting, what if we go and eat breakfast together every day? I mean, from the place where Nina brings our breakfast. Nina won't have to work that hard in the morning then, and—"

He interrupted me, "I am too busy to even protest. Yesterday, we spent all evening playing, so we all still have our things left to do. You know, weekends are the only times we can give to ourselves fully."

"Then, how about only on weekdays? We all wake up early, anyway," I asked with hope.

"That's impossible," with that, he went inside his room.
