CHAPTER 18

"Hi, Liam," I said swallowing hard to stop the tears. "Hi, love," he said. I could sense my father behind me. But what I was focused on now was Liam's eyes. "Did you really mean all that?" I asked. He reached up and wiped my tears, "Every word." I chocked out a smile as tears streamed down my face. I threw my arms around Liam and buried my face in his neck as I stood on my tippy toes to reach him. He held me tight and made me feel safe in his arms.

It reminded me of last summer, when I was certain that if he was around that I was unbreakable. But no one is unbreakable. We all have a breaking point. And it's not about who leads you to that point. It's about who sticks around for the after affects.

"You did it," I said to Liam as I kept hold of him, "You told the world." "Well not the entire world," he said modestly. I laughed and pulled my head away from him to look into his chocolate brown eyes. "I'm still proud of you," I told him, "That takes guts." "Well I guess thinking of you helped," he said. "That was really cheesy, but nice try," I said with a smile. "Really? You caught on that easily? I thought I did good with that line! Been working on it for two seconds!" He had me laughing. I loved how we could be ourselves together. "You can't fool a nerd who's addicted to romance novels," I said. Finally I let him go and returned back to my normal height. "Thank you, Liam," I said. He slipped his hand into mine as he looked down at me. "Why are you thanking me?" He asked. "Because you dealt with me and all my troubles. You stayed through the meltdowns, the panic attacks, the freak outs even the spasms. You've seen me at my worst and been the reason for my best. You didn't judge me when I hated the world, and you walked beside me as I thought everything in this universe was the definition of perfection. You never stopped loving me, even when I almost gave up. You saved me from the worst decision of my life. And for all of that, I thank you." He was speechless I could tell. "I-I," he stammered, "I don't know what to say..." "You don't have to stay anything," I said, giving his hand a squeeze.

"Broo-o-o-o-o-kl-y-y-n!" Ann called my name in a sing song voice. She came skipping over to Liam and I. I hadn't realized my father had disappeared until now. "There are some very eager band mates that would like to meet you-u-u-u!" I laughed as I let her lead me away. With Liam trailing along behind me, joined to me by our hands, grinning as widely as I was, I knew everything was going to turn out okay.

Liam's hand mates were complete sweethearts. They welcomed me with open arms and would always ask if I was doing okay, because they had seen me crying earlier. They made me laugh and made me feel loved. I felt like I had found four more brothers to care for me and protect me just as much as my own brother, Josh.

Harry had insisted we go out to celebrate. I'm not quite sure what he wanted to celebrate, but Niall pulled me aside after and said, "He probably just wants to go meet some girls." I had laughed and thought he was kidding. My parents stayed back and went to their hotel, clearly seeing that I was in good hands. We went to the pizza place across from the cafe where I finally realized Niall wasn't kidding. Harry was flirting with almost any girl we saw. But it was all harmless. Harry was a kid at heart, he was just fooling around.

Over all, that day was probably one of the best in my life. But then there was also the day I met Liam and our first kiss and that night on the beach, or should I say, those many nights on the beach, and there was also the moment I got his text, asking me to meet him on the beach, and the moment I saw him standing there, and don't forget, the moment he told me he loved me. Basically, the best moment of my life, started the day I met Liam and continues today and into tomorrow.

I find it funny how each summer now had a tendency to define my year. The past two summers have been full of so many emotions that I was set with enough drama for the whole year. I wasn't looking forward to next summer yet, because I just didn't want anything this bad to happen again. But, we ended up together in the end, almost like nothing had ever happened. That takes two people madly in love, who won't let anything stop them from being together.

*One Month Later*

"Liam!" I called, running down the hallway towards him standing in front of my dorm.

It was mid day and I was on a break from classes. I had come back to my room to get my books for my class only to find Liam waiting for me.

He turned around and smiled at me as I ran towards him. I jumped into his arms, nearly taking him to the ground. I hadn't seen him in a week, because he had been traveling around Eastern Europe for interviews. "Hi, love," he said, exasperated. I laughed as he set me back down on the ground, "What are you doing here?" I asked him as I put my key into the lock. "We got back today so I came to visit you," he said. "You didn't have to come right away, I could have waited another day," I said, pushing through the door and into my room. He followed after me, "Yeah but I couldn't," he said. I turned back to him and smiled. He winked at me then walked over to my bed and fell down onto it. "Making yourself at home I see," I teased him as I searched for my newly revised monologue for my next class. "So what class do you have next?" Liam asked, sitting up and looking at the trinkets on my bed side table. They were souvenirs from the places I had visited. "English Language Arts," I mumbled. I heard him pick things up and examine them. "AH-HA!" I exclaimed as I found my monologue under sketchbooks, within notepads and on top of cook books. "What?" Liam said. "I found my monologue," I practically screamed. He sat back in my bed and looked over at me. "What's it about?" He asked. "Hard to explain," I mumbled as I skimmed over the paper. "Can I read it," Liam asked. "No!" I said, holding it to my chest. He raised an eye brow at me, "Then read it to me," he said. I swallowed hard. I hated presenting things. I took a deep death, "Fine, but don't laugh." "Promise," he said. I looked down at my paper and began to read out loud. "You never know when you will find your special someone. You never know when you might lose someone close to your heart. You never know when you're going to have your heart broken and you will never know when you will find it stolen. But all that is certain is that today is here to guide us, so live your dream. Show compassion. Create your own happiness. Follow your heart. Enjoy the little things. Laugh out loud. Be your best self. Cherish every moment. Dream big. Embrace every possibility. Discover your passion. Believe in miracles. Create peace. Make a wish. Be spontaneous. Remember to breathe. Sing in the rain and fall in love. Because today is the day. Live it well." I looked up at Liam and caught him staring at me. "That was beautiful," he said, standing up to meet me, "Have you ever thought of majoring in Journalism or something?" I smiled as he pulled me in for a hug. "I love it," he said. "Thank you," I replied as I hugged him back. "I love you," he said, kissing the top of my head. "I love you too," I whispered as I closed my eyes and embracedthe hug.

At that moment everything was perfect. All the puzzle pieces fell together to paint the painting of our lives.

We came together when the chances were one in a million. We fell in love with the hardest circumstances. And we stayed together in the most unlikely way.

I remembered I had started the summer in fear of life in the spotlight. But nothing really changed. Of course my name was a lot more known than before, but my friends still stayed with me. My family still loved me. I had been scared to tell the world. But Liam did as he always did, he soothed me and made sure everything turned out alright. Liam telling the world about us was probably one of the best things that had ever happened to me. Because I was done living in fear. Fear had consumed me and made me a person I had never seen before. I trusted him and he did the right thing. Now I have nothing to fear and everything to look forward to. And each and every thing, would become the story of my life. Scratch that, it you become the story of mine and Liam's life. The story of our life. All because he told the world.
