CHAPTER 16

*One Week Later*

"Okay, would you two shut up! We're trying to liste-e-e-e-n!" I said as I sat with Liam's arm around my shoulders, cuddling up in my bed. I was glaring over at Ann and Niall, blabbing on about the movie we were trying to watch. Ann looked over at me and stuck her tongue out, I did the same and she just turned away. I laughed as I tried to focus back on the movie. "Oh, I love this part," I whispered to Liam. "Would you shut up, already? I'm trying to watch the movie!" Ann mocked me. "Okay," I said, sitting up and throwing the covers off, "I'm done, we're going for a walk," I said grabbing both of Liam's hands and dragging him out of my warm bed.

It was a cool Saturday night. Summer was basically over and my favourite season was just around the corner. It was around 11:00 when I dragged Liam outside.

"Bye, Ann!" I said in a over cheery voice. "Bye, Brooklyn!" She said right back. I smirked, "Niall, don't let her burn down the place!" "Liam, let her trip and fall flat on her face," Ann copied my tone of voice. "Oh, that hurt me. English muffin, that hurt me a lot." "French fry, I could say the same," Ann replied. I laughed and pushed Liam into the hallway. "Later!" I called. "Later!" She called back. I closed the door and turned to see Liam looking at me in confusion. "English muffin?" He said, "French fry?" I laughed, "They're nick names, British boy. She's English muffin because she's from Ontario and I'm French fry because I'm from Quebec." He still looked confused, "It's a Canadian thing!" I laughed as I grabbed his hand and ran down the hallway.

When I got to the doors for the stairs, I let go and turned to face him. He was barely inches from my face and he was probably expecting a kiss, but instead I whispered, "Catch me," and dashed out of his sight. I raced down the stairwell and could hear the echo of his pounding footsteps following after me. I pushed through the ground level door and out into the north building courtyard. Our building was the only one lucky enough to have a fountain in the middle of ours.

I ran towards the fountain, but Liam had always been a fast runner. He slipped an arm around my waist and hoisted me into the air before I knew it. I screamed in laughter as he slowly set me back down. For a moment we were face to face at the same level, but then he set me down and I became the inch shorter than him that I was. I had my hands rested on his shoulders as I said, "You know, having you here on campus sometimes worries me." "Why's that love," he says as he sweeps me off my feet, bridal style and leads me over to the fountain.

I let out a small yelp as I'm lifted off the ground, but my hands find somewhere to hold. "We have photographers on campus, what if one is taking pictures of us right now? And then my dad sees them on the Internet. It scares me all the time that we will get discovered." "I know it scares you, Brooklyn," he says setting me down on the stones. He sits down beside me and I rest my head on his strong arm. "But we have each other, that's all that should matter." "What about my father?" I ask him. "Do you trust me?" Liam asks, "Of course," I reply, " but what does this have to do with my father." "Do you trust me?" He asks again. I nodded my head. "Then let me do this, I've got it all figured out," he said. "Okay," I told him, burying my face in his arm. He kissed the top of my head. Then whispered, "Can I tell the world that I have found the girl of my dreams, the one I can life for?" "Liam..." I say hesitantly. "I don't have to say its you...I can keep it completely anonymous," Liam said, sensing my fear, "I just want the world to know that I have fallen helplessly in love." I felt my cheeks become warm, he smiled and reached over to push a piece of fallen hair behind my ear. "You're so beautiful," he whispered. I felt a smile coming on and before I knew it, Liam had tilted my chin upwards and softly pressed his lips to mine.

He held the kiss longer than usual, and I liked it. It felt kind of exhilarating to let him take the lead again. I knew, that for the longest time he was scared to be the one to kiss me, because he thought I wouldn't like it, seeing as I pushed him away for a long time. But tonight as we went to pull away, Liam didn't give me much time to catch my breath, before he pulled me back in. I had forgotten how much I loved his kiss. The first one was always soft and safe, but if one of us couldn't get enough after the first, the second was always more intense and rough. I hadn't realized how much I had actually craved these moments while we were apart. To have his lips pressed to mine, with his hands in places only a boyfriends should be and just the thought that he had wanted it before the thought had even popped into my mind, made me want him even more.
