~Lia's POV~

"They are coming tonight!" I yelled at them.

They were all silent after that. I didn't know what else to say. So I looked at Brian.

"Okay everyone inside. Dimitri, your men too. Just wait on the balcony for us," Brian said before rushing inside with everyone else but Rylee and I.

"You know what we have to do right?" She asked me seriously.

I nodded, "Yeah. I do."

My voice was cracking and a few tears escaped my eyes and rolled down my cheeks. I looked at Rylee and hugged her tight.

"Alright. Telling them that they are coming bought us some time to slip away. Let's go before they realize that we are gone," I said pulling away.

We started walking and didn't even get out of the clearing before one of the Sentanials swooped down in front of us.

"Please, I wish to join you. My name is Caden," He said with a slight nod of his head.

"Thank you for volunteering, but you shouldn't get hurt because of us," Rylee said looking up at him.

"What I wish to do with my life is my decision. I believe that doing whatever it takes to save the ones you love is a noble act. So I will accompany you," Caden said walking on ahead.

Rylee and I caught up to him and we began the long walk to their campsite.

"So how do you two know each other?" Caden asked us when we were about ten minutes into the walk.

"Umm..it was actually on my birthday. On my fifth birthday my I remember my mom telling me about an old friend she knew from school. Her daughter's birthday was four weeks before mine and my mom wanted to know if I would like to join parties with her. Being a five year old and wanting to be the center on attention was my main priority. I thought if I shared I wouldn't get all the attention. That was until I met Rylee. We had never met before until then, so it was a bit tense, but she's been my best friend ever since," I explained.

"It sounds like your wolves knew before you did that you guys were meant to be friends. Because you had something in common," Caden said; he only paused for a minute before asking another question.

"How did your group form? Beck, Chase, and the two of you."

I took a deep breath, "Well I've known Beck since we were born. Our moms grew up together. Then we both met Rylee and...Chase is kind of a difficult story..."

  *start of flashback*

"Come on Beck! You cant give up," Lia yelled running with Rylee by her side.

"We had just started the fourth grade. But on that day we were outside in my backyard playing tag," I began.

Beck looked up and smirked then ran at Lia and Rylee. They screamed and ran across the bridge over the river.

"Okay stop. We give up," Lia said panting.

"Okay fine. But you owe me later," Beck said sitting down.

"What do I owe you?" Lia asked him narrowing her eyes,

"You have to give me your Dr.Pepper at lunch tomorrow," Beck said smiling.

Lia grunted and leaned her head back but nodded.

"Where did Rylee go?" Lia asked.

"I don't know. She probably thinks we're still after her," Beck said smiling.

"I don't know how he ended up there. He never told us. He just kept saying that someone pushed him in," Rylee said looking up at the trees.

Lia stood up to look over the railing and into the creek. That's when she saw it. A hand.

"Beck, look. There's something down there," She said taking off to go down the bank.

"Careful, Lia," Beck said coming behind her.

"Its a person," Lia said trying to pull him out of the water.

The boy gasped and sat up grabbing his chest and coughing.

"What's your name?" Beck asked him.

"I'm Chase," He said looking at Lia and Beck.

*End of flashback*

"So that's how our little group started. Rylee told me she  had taken off to go get my mom. We tried but we never got it out of Chase how he got in that river. He did tell us he had family in town thought so we took him there. It was his Grandma that took care of him," I said looking at the ground.

Caden was silent for a little while.

"We only have one more hour until we're there so whatever other questions you have, ask them now," I told him slowing down just a bit.

Caden seemed to think his answer over before speaking," How would you like to know a piece of interesting information?"

That was not what I was expecting from him.

"Very much so," Rylee said looking at him.

"Alright. Chase's parents are Hunters. They are with the group that you are giving yourselves up to. His father pushed him in that day knowing you would find him. You were supposed to befriend him until he could gather enough information to go back and turn against you," Caden said walking at a brisker pace.

Suddenly I felt Alec trying to push into my mind. I tried to bock him out as best as I could but he was stronger.

  Lia where are you?

I'm with Rylee.

Where? Tell me where. We cant find you anywhere, Lia. Please tell me.

I cant. Im so sorry Alec. Rylee and I are doing what is best for everyone. Please understand that Alec. I love you.

After that I shut off the mind link with him and kept walking with Caden and Rylee.
