Run Like You Mean It (Berlin wolves series)

Chapter 9

We pulled into the hotel's parking lot and everyone piled out of the cars. Everyone gathered around my car to wait for Brian to speak. Fianlly he walked up.

"Alright. Now we cant all go in at the same time. That would look really weird. So Lia and Beck are going to come with me, and the rest of you guys unpack the cars," Brian said walking towards the hotel.

   Beck and I followed Brian into the hotel and we walked up to the front desk. I looked around at the place. In the little sitting area there was a man in a buisness suit looking at his laptop screen intently. In the breakfast area of the lobby an elderly couple sat at one of the tables talking quietly and in one of the booths this middle age looking guy who was practcally eye raping me. He kept staring and eventually I looked away in time to hear Brian talking to the lady at the desk.

  "How may I help you sir?" The lady, whose name tag read: Mary, asked him.

"I need all the rooms on the fourth floor please," Brian replied.

   Mary looked at him like he was crazy but put it in the computer and gave hi the room keys.

"Here you go sir. Have a nice night," Mary said just before the doors opened and the rest of the pack came in with all the luggage.

  The elderly couple looked at all of us as we made our way to the elevators. Brian split us up into groups of three becuase there where only five rooms. I was rooming with Beck and Alec since Derek didnt want Rylee out of his sight and I wasnt about to share a room with Derek.

  "Yeah! Party Time!" Alec yelled when we got into our room.

"Would you shut it? I dont want the people below us to complain becuase a teenage boy was being to loud!" I yelled at him flopping on the bed.

  Alec and Beck brought in our bags but we didnt bother to unpack them yet. We where in for a busy night. Tonight was the night I was going to shift and find out if Beck was my true mate. Beck said that he thought e was my mate, but I can't help but think that today when Alec comforted me on the road...it just felt right. Maybe it was because we where just so close. Yeah, that had to be it.

  "Are you ready for tonight?" Beck asked me sitting down on the couch beside Alec.

"I dont know. I feel nervous but at the same time..I feel ready," I explained honestly.

   I didnt know any other way to put it. I knew that this was supposed to happen and nothing could stop it...so why was I so nervous?

 ~~Alec's POV~~

  As Brian told me that I would be rooming with Beck and Lia, I couldnt help but feel relieved. When I had put my arm around Lia today, it just felt right. But I can't be her mate. Everyone's already pretty positive that Beck is and I couldnt steal Lia away from him. I just couldnt. But looking at her now, I just couldnt help but feel that something was off...

  ~~Lia's POV~~

As I layed on the bed and waited for Brian to come tell us it was time I got even more nervous. What was I gonna say? What was I supposed to do? Questions like this rolled through my mind as I waited, and finally after countless minuets of feeling like I was going insane, Brian came in our room. I rolled over and sat up to look at him.

 "Come on," He said and we all followed him out into the trees behind the hotel.

   Everyone else was already in a big circle in a clearing standing very still. They only moved to look at me as I came up. I saw Rylee who was standing next to Derek holding his hand but she didnt look up at me. She was probably wondering if this was going to happen to her when the time came. I stood in the middle of the circle as Brian started speaking.

  "Lia, all you need to do is stand there like the rest of us. Wait for the moon to be directly over your head and then....your change will begin. Now be warned that the first time is a bit painful, but after you have shifted into your wolf, look for the one wolf in the circle who had similar markings to yours. Also try having a conversation in your mind with each wolf, it will help us tell who is your mate," He said before looking up.

  "Its time."

I looked at Beck and he winked at me. I just offered a small smile in return. The moon came through the trees and shone down on me and i felt my first wave of pain through my back.

 ~~Alec's POV~~

  I just knew somehow in the back of my mind that her wold would have similar markings to mine. But I ignored that thought...It was more likely that she would look like Beck. Its obvious to evryone that they really like each other. Heck, they may even love each other.  And I respect Beck, not only as a Beta but as a best friend and brother.

 ~~Lia's POV~~

  I could feel my spine popping and it was the worst feeling in the world. Next my arms and legs reshaped and then I fell as tremors rocked my body and I let out a bloodcurling scream. I felt my face enlongate into a snout then I was up on all fours and I felt something growning out of my butt. I looked back and saw a tail. I then looked around.. I was a wolf. I looked at Rylee and she was smiling. But it kind of fell as she got a good look at me. What? Was my fur weird? I cocked my head to the side and looked at her. She pointed behind me with tiny motions. I turned around and that's when I saw it.

  "Mine." The wolf said growling.
