Chapter 13

  ~~Lia's POV~~

     Are they following us? Colby asked someone.

I cant see anyone. Maybe we lost them. Shane replied.

  Then one thought came to my mind that I should have asked earlier.

Where's Chase? I asked tentively.

  When no one answered me I started to panic. I asked them again shouting this time.

Where is Chase! I shouted.

  I'm sorry Lia. We had to leave him. They were already right on our tails by the time we left. Derek said sadly.

 Why did you leave him? We have to go back and get him! I replied furiously.

   Even if we did go back, there wouldnt be anything to go back too. He's gone. They killed him. Jasper said in an almost wisper.

  I stopped completely then. Everyone else did too.

We have to kill them.  I said baring my teeth and letting a snarl loose.

  we will kill them soon. Just not now, Lia. We have to go. Brian said without another word on the matter and left.

 Everyone else followed him but one. Alec.

   Come on, Lia. We have to go. Alec said nudging me with his snout.

I looked back in the direction we came from, I will kill you all.

  I turned and bounded away with the rest of them.

~~Mr.Scar's POV~~

   The stupid little brats got away from me again. If it wasnt for those pesky little friends of theirs I would have them in my hands right now.  They are always one step ahead of me. I will get them...somehow I will.

  "Scar, they took off in wolf form and are currently heading north," One of my deputies said over the walkie.

 "Follow them," I replied and walked back to the car.

   "Such a pity we cant catch them," Alice said stepping out of the shadows of the trees.

"Dont you have somewhere to be?" I snapped at her.

  She smirked, "Yeah. Here. My mom told me to come down and help. She said it would be fun but this seems pretty boring."

 "Then leave," I replied turning my back to her and walking to the supply truck.

"Sorry. No can do. They sent me to keep and eye on you. They think you're losing it," She said following me.

 I spun around suddenly and came face to face with her, "Why would they tell you to look after me?"

   She smirked again and it bothered me this time, "Because you are cracking, Scar. Right down the middle. Everytime they excape from you a little more of that crack shows and they know pretty soon, you're just going break. And they told me to watch you to make sure that doesnt happen."

  All I did was roll my eyes. It wasnt worth it to argue about it with her. Only becuase I know she would win and would gloat about it all day. I took out a rifle and a scope from the big box. Then I put several knives in my pocket and one up my jacket sleave.

  "Where are you going?" Alice asked me curiously.

"My team and I are going after them. You need to go back and tell your parents about this. I will contact you if I need any help," I told her walking into the trees with the rest of my men.

  ~~Lia's POV~~

   We wheren't running anymore and for that I was grateful. Halfway through the run I got so tired. I had to stop, shift back, and have Alec carry me the rest of the way. We where now resting on a cliff somewhere in the mountians. I was leaning back against the rock when someone came and sat down beside me. I stiffened until I felt the familar sparks when whoever it was put their arm around me.

  "Hey. Sorry, I didnt mean to scare you, " Alec said sighing.

"It's okay. You didnt scare me too much," I replied looking at him.

  "I'm sorry about Chase," He finally said.

At the mention of  Chase I stiffened. Alec noticed becuase he pulled me into him and I started crying.

   "There wasnt anything you could have done, Lia. It was too late," Alec told me quietly.

I sniffed and sat back up and pulled my knees to my chest.

  "Brian says we have to go at first light, " Derek said coming up to us.

I only nodded. Derek looked at Alec.

  "We need your help with the lisence plates Alec," Derek said walking off.

Alec gave me a qick kiss on the forehead and stood up to leave. I leaned my head back against the smooth rock and closed my eyes and fell asleep.

 ~~Alec's POV~~

   I was helping Derek take the lisence plate off of his car when my eyes traveled over to. She was absolutely beautiful. She looked peaceful and happy.

"How exactly did you guys get the cars out here?" I asked not taking my eyes off of Lia.

  "Some of the guyd drove them out here. Dude, if she wasnt your mate I would have to kill you for staring at her right now," Derek said hitting me over the head with the plate.

 "What? Is it a crime to stare at her?" I asked him walking over to my car.

   "No. It's a crime to eye rape her when her cousin and our Alpha is standing right over there," Derek said smiling.

  "I wasnt eye raping her, Derek. I was just looking at her. I'm worried about her. She's had so much happen to  her in such a small ammount of time it just doesnt seem fair," I told him as we started working in the lisence plate.

  He was silent for a moment, "Your right it's not fair. But that doesnt mean it wasnt ment to happen."

I couldnt help but agree with him. Everything that has happened was for a reason and it caused most other stuff to fall into place. If some of what had happened to us hadn't happened, Lia might not even be my mate right now. And I couldnt even imagine that not happening.
