Over the span of the next couple months, the dynamic between Chloe and her group of friends had changed drastically. She had practically become best friends with Damon Albarn, despite opposing the rest of his friends and bandmates, and the fact that she regularly hung out with Noel and Liam Gallagher, knowing that they were currently in a feud with the boys of Blur. Some were calling it the battle of britpop. But to be honest Chloe hadn't been paying much attention to it. She was more interested in her career and the well being of her friends to get pulled into whatever war was being started. Britpop itself was such a weird name. She couldn't understand who and why it had been created. If people stopped putting labels on music perhaps things would be much better and music could actually be enjoyed in the fully.
That was her theory at least.
Chloe had also managed to find herself being a little more public than before, after some hardcore encouragement from Damon and his little side pals, she'd become more open to the idea of going out, whether it meant being caught by a pap or not.
Her new philosophy was "who cares? it's just a little photograph."
Joan was also around less. She'd been having to fly all over for shoots and had actually been staying in New York more than London recently. Apparently Joan was growing tired of the commute and had actually moved into her apartment in the states.
It was starting to feel a little empty in the Erlich home, especially with Kendal being on tour. Maxis felt like his kids were becoming dependent, which made him happy, even though it meant he had to make less eggs and adjust to an empty nest.
However, he had one of his kids at home. Chloe was still relatively around and it had been awhile since they'd done something together. So, one morning at breakfast he decided to float an idea in her head.
"You know that movie my song is in?" He asked as he put one of his pans in the sink, cleaning up the after breakfast rush
Chloe nodded her head "Trainspotting? Yeah. Blur and Elastica have got songs in it too."
"Do you want to go check out where they're filming today? The director invited me over."
She raises an eyebrow "Why?"
He shrugs "You're always out with your friends. We haven't gotten to do much recently."
"You could always take mum. I'm sure she'd love to see a good movie set."
"Your mum is at Joan's shows in Milan currently. Something we're both missing."
She tilts her head "Could I invite-"
He cuts her off "No. this is a bonding day. I don't want any Blur or Oasis twats tagging along."
"I thought you liked them?"
"I do. I like their music. But they're starting to get under my skin a little bit. And I thought they did that to you too."
She shrugs "I like them both. They're fun to hang out with. Besides Damon always has something funny going on. It's quite funny watching them rehearse, they're all such messes."
He sat quietly, not wanting to comment on ow it was beginning to reflect upon his daughter. "Why don't you take your camera? Get some shots for NME or something? It's been awhile since you've had your work published, and besides, weren't you trying to release a photography book a few months ago?"
She shrugs "That's a little boring now dad. Besides, I don't think anyone would pay to see my photos like that."
"Sure they would. You used to win so many awards for them. And I loved reading your little tour diaries along with them."
