Ingredients:
3 cups all-purpose flour
3 cups granulated sugar
1 1/2 cups unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tablespoon baking soda
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
4 large eggs
1 1/2 cups buttermilk
1 1/2 cups warm water
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 teaspoons vanilla extractInstructions:
Mix together flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a stand mixer using a low speed until combined.
In another bowl combine eggs, buttermilk, warm water, oil, and vanilla. Beat on a medium speed until smooth.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
Butter three 9-inch cake rounds. Divide batter among the three pans.
Bake for 30-35 minutes in a 350 degree oven until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Let it cool for some time.
Place the first cake and layer it with chocolate buttercream frosting.
Do so with the second and third layer as well.
Once all the layers are assembled, frost the sides as well.
Optional: add toppings like sprinkles, buttercream frosting/chocolate ganache, chocolates, etc as desiredAnd Voilà! Your chocolate cake is now ready!
