6/21/850

Today is the day I marry my former captain, Levi Ackerman.

My parents are within the walls of Mitras, my dress has been tailored to me, and the people are already filing into the castle. I was confused as to why this needed to be made into such a big deal, but apparently, this was all the King's idea.

I know his ulterior motives, and I know Levi does too, but it's not like we really have a choice.

I did wonder if Levi would really go through with this if he had the ability to back out. I hoped he wouldn't, but deep in my heart I knew this was silly too.

But I shouldn't dwell on the "what ifs". This is my wedding day, probably the only one I'd ever get, so I should be happy.

Captain Levi is a wonderful person, and even though he is rough around the edges, I know he will take care of me.

I guess next time I write in this Journal, I will be (y/n) Ackerman...

As I closed my journal, my mother came knocking on the door.

"Come in." I said as I pulled out a comb and began to brush my hair.

"Sweetie! Why aren't you dressed yet?" She asked. There was still a couple of hours till the wedding, so I wasn't in any hurry, but I knew my mother was just nervous.

"I won't take long, mother." I said to her, patiently smiling.

"We met Levi, your father and I!" She said to me. "He is a wonderful man! He's handsome too, darling. You did good!"

I gave her another smile.

Damn, he's seen my parents more than he's seen me. I hadn't seen him since the week before, when we went to go look at our shared house for the first time.

"Is everything okay, sweetie?" My mother asked.

"Yeah, of course. I'm just nervous." I said, lying to her. I didn't want them to think Levi was a bad guy for not being honest about the arranged marriage, so I kept that a secret.

"You'll be beautiful out there!" My mother complimented, giving me encouragement.

That's when another knock came at my door. I got up to see who is was.

"Capt- I mean Levi. How-w are you?" I said, as I opened the door, stuttering over myself.

"I'm well. I thought I'd come to check on you. Do you need anything before the ceremony?" He asked. I wondered if he'd put on a show for the day, and be a little more upbeat, but he was just the same as ever. He did seem like he had gotten more sleep recently, which was good for a change.

"I'm okay! I just have to get ready." I told him with a warm smile.

"Well, if that's the case, I will see you at the ceremony."

"I'll see you then as well, Levi." He gave me a slight smirk at the sound of his name, which made my stomach light up with butterflies.

Maybe...he wasn't so upset about this after all...

After a few hours, the ceremony was set to start in just minutes. I waited outside, in the hallway of the main room with my father by my side. We were told to walk in as soon as we heard music, so we waited silently.

"Are you nervous?" I asked my dad, trying to joke around, but when he looked at me, his eyes were filled with tears.

"Daddy..." I gasped, since I didn't even notice that he was crying before.

"I'm just so proud of you, (y/n)..." His words melted my heart, but right as I was about to say something, the loud music from within the ceremony hall began playing. Instantly, my stomach swirled in embarrassment and my father quickly wiped the tears from his eyes.

"Guess that's our queue!" Father said playfully, returning the joke.

As I walked through the doors, my arm wrapped around my father's, I scanned the room, noticing how everyone's eyes were on me. Since I had the veil over my head, I couldn't see everyone perfectly, but when I looked directly in front of me, I saw Levi, clear as day.

The walk felt like the aisle was a mile long, but eventually I got to the top of the alter. My dad hugged me, and helped me up, and I was soon met with Levi's gaze.

I couldn't read him, not for one second. But he did look at me like he never had before. I couldn't tell what it meant, but it felt nice. Soon though, our eye contact broke, as he looked at the cleric for majority of the time.

The ceremony was long, but eventually, we started coming to an end.

"Levi, repeat after me..." The cleric said.

That's when Levi and I finally looked at each other again. He repeated the cleric's vows loud and clear, for better or worse, in sickness and in health, blah, blah, blah...

And I, did the same.

This is where my heart started pounding in my chest, so loud that I thought Levi for sure could hear it.

My veil was still over my face, so I thought maybe this ceremony didn't include a kiss. Surly, Erwin knew we hadn't ever kissed before.

"Levi, you may now uncover your bride." Said the cleric.

I gulped, as Levi gently took the ends of the veil that softly rested over me, and flipped them over, exposing my face completely.

"Ladies and gentlemen, it is my privilege to introduce to you for the first time Mr. and Mrs. Ackerman. You may now kiss your bride..."

Levi and I paused, the look of fear both prevalent within our eyes, but we had no choice. We had to kiss.

He took a step forward, inches from my face, and leaned in, as he gently closed his eyes, and I simply followed.

The crowd cheered, but it went silent to me.

All I felt was him.

His soft lips gently pressed against mine, and soon there after, his hand softly caressed my face. I kissed him back, my hands meeting the silky fabric of his jacket, as I brought him closer to me with my grasp.

Not a legible thought filled my head as we pulled away, my face probably redder than the wine we would soon drink. I smiled at him, since I didn't know what else to really do. That's when I realized how happy the crowd was. All the scouts we knew cheered as loud as they could, which made me laugh as we walked back down the aisle, our arm's wrapped around one another.

I wondered if we had fooled the royal people of Sina into thinking Levi and I were truly in love.
