BURGUNDY: Episode 4.7

Dreaming.

Mayumi was still dreaming.

In the Butterfly Estate, the ravenette sat with her sisters, accompanied by the Hashiras, Tanjiro, Nezuko, Zenitsu, and Inosuke who were still recovering from their injuries. They were all smiling, joyful with the fact that they were now living a new life with no more demons.

She stayed beside Kyojuro, holding onto his hand as they all spoke amongst themselves about the future.

"Rengoku-san, what will you be doing now?" Tanjiro asked with a smile.

Kyojuro glances at his wife. "Masami and I plan on finally fulfilling our dreams!" He happily said.

Uzui hummed at the reply, "Which is?"

"Growing our family!"

Cue the death glares of Kanae, Shinobu, and Kanao.

"Ohoh~! " Tengen smirked, patting the Flame Hashira's back. "Go crazy!"

"You–!" Mayumi glared at Tengen's laughing face. "What if we planned to adopt?!"

"So?" Uzui shrugged, only to receive disapproving glances from his wives.

"Aww~! Hoshi will be so happy to have a sibling!" Mitsuri beamed with excitement for her two closest friends growing their family. "I can't wait to see the baby! They're so cute~"

Obanai blushed at Mitsuri's words. "I can give you one."

Now it was Mitsuri's turn to blush.

Muichiro, who unfortunately sat right beside them, frowned, wishing he didn't hear their conversation.

Hoshiko ran into the room, throwing himself to the ravenette in glee. "I'm having a new sibling?" He smiled brightly, overhearing the conversation.

The young boy has been wishing for a brother or sister for the longest time now. He wanted to be the best big brother in the whole world where he could hear them out and get them whatever they wanted. Just like how he wanted an older sibling to do for him in the past.

"Not yet." The ravenette giggled, patting her son's hair.

"But very soon!" Kyojuro announced to the boy.

Cue the heavy glares of Mayumi's sisters.

"Namu Amida Butsu." Gyomei chanted.

"Yeah just announce it to the world, would ya?" Sanami, who was sitting beside them, mumbled, embarrassed to hear the unneeded.

Muichiro pretended not to hear anything. He just stared at the wall.

"Let's talk about this later and enjoy dinner all together, alright?" Mayumi smiled, dismissing all awkwardness.

Everyone agreed as they all piled food on their plates, sharing laughs and smiles amongst themselves.

Mayumi brightly smiled, enjoying the sound of their voices.

She was glad they all made it out alive.

Life is finally...perfect.

But why did it feel so off?

'It's a dream!'

Mayumi blinked.

'Fake! It's all fake!'

Clenching her head, Mayumi looked around, noticing how everyone was still chatting, unaware of the yelling voice.

'Fake! Fake! Fake! Wake up!!'
