It was already dark when Crowley walked around the empty Coliseum with a depressed aura. His shoulders drooped as he stared at his hands with a gloomy gaze.

"We lost...again. I thought we would win against them this time..!" He looked down with his glowing eyes closed, disappointed. "What are we missing?"

A set of footsteps suddenly stopped behind him.

"It's been quite a while, Crowley."

At the call of his name, the headmaster turned around and widened his eyes at the appearance of the person he viewed as an annoying rival. "Ambrose the 63rd! I didn't expect the Headmaster of Royal Sword Academy today!" He exclaimed.

Said headmaster chuckled with a jolly expression, one that a Santa Claus poser would imitate. "The sight of young students improving themselves through their rivalry battle is beautiful, isn't it? Royal Sword Academy won again this year."

Crowley frowned at his words with great displeasure. "Yeah, that's right. Well, it was only by one vote apart. There could have been an error!"

"Even so, it is still a match between our campus and we won! Oh ho ho!" Ambrose chuckled.

Crowley grumbled, wanting so badly to watch them lose. "We'll win the next one! Just you wait!"

"Well, I'm looking forward to the Interhigh Magift Tournament in May. After all, Royal Sword Academy might earn their 100th win." The old-looking mage smiled, angering Crowley even more.

Suddenly, Ambrose's smile quickly fell as one of worry and trouble seemed to overtake his features. "By the way, Crowley...I've been picking up large traces of powerful magic all over the coliseum."

The bird face only tilted his head like it wasn't a concern at all. "Your point being?"

"This sheer amount of magic is not the normal level used even in a magic exam. What exactly happened here before the start of the VDC?" Ambrose asked with a rather serious expression.

"I haven't the slightest idea what you're talking about. As headmaster of the school hosting the joint culture festival, I can assure you that I have ensured the safety of others." Crowley declared, permitting no room for him to be viewed as incompetent in his job.

"Perhaps some students got too worked up during rehearsals...but I'm sure that's all it was. My students can be a little unusual and short-tempered, but they all have their own quirks, that's all part of what makes them so capable." Crowley assured, defending his (troublesome) students.

Ambrose stared at the man with a hesitation of trust, but let it slide as he himself was unsure. "Hmmm... If you say so, Crowley. I'll make sure to keep a close eye on the students tomorrow, especially on Mayumi Kocho. I'm rather curious as to how she's faring."

"Well, well. How reliable of you! There's no need for that. Miss Kocho is well capable of herself as my student and school nurse. Dare I say she helps stir trouble away! Oh ho ho! Truly a wonderful student! My school is very happy to have her!" Crowley proudly gloated as he mimicked Ambrose's chuckle.

Ambrose only nodded at his words. "I see. Well, do take care of her. She's a very promising student with excellent magic and a bright future. But I fear that they'll be moments when she may be unable to control herself with the powerful abilities she holds. It'll be a great misfortune if she were to be overtaken by the ice hellion. Please make sure she's getting the proper rest and keep a close eye on her, Crowley. If you cannot, I will have to use my authority to transfer her over to my school."
