Whimsy glanced at Blue, who was pouting slightly. She laughed and shoved him a bit. "Come on, it would be good for you to hang out with Caiman, he's a nice guy," she said.
"You're just inviting him so you can hang out with Elle without feeling bad," Blue picked at Whimsy's wool blanket. "Just don't get all makey-outy and cuddly."
Smiling, Whimsy said, "Deal."
They continued playing Stardew Valley on their switches, and Blue helped Whimsy find sunflower seeds in the game. Whimsy kept glancing over to Blue, who was talking about the characters and lore with a quiet yet passionate tone.
Whimsy smiled and liked the message. She looked up and saw Blue staring at her. "They're here," she said. He sighed and Whimsy got up, then went to the door. The doorbell rang and Whimsy called out, "I got it mama!" She opened the door and was immediately hit with a big embrace. Giggling, Whimsy kissed Elle and put a hand through her hair. "Hi my love," she said.
"Hi dubs!" Elle exclaimed. Whimsy pulled her inside and Caiman stepped in behind her, wearing a yellow sweatshirt with a duck picture on the front. Whimsy smiled at him and he gave a curt wave.
Whimsy led the two to her room, but her mom stopped them. "Hi Elle! I'm glad to see you here again," she said, kissing Elle's cheek politely. "And Caiman, it's been a while!"
"Hi Mrs. Yale," Caiman murmured bashfully.
"Keep those girls in line," Whimsy's mom winked and Caiman laughed a bit.
"Will do,"
Rolling her eyes, Whimsy pulled Elle down the hallway and burst into her room. Blue barely looked up. "Hey Blue!" Elle said, before jumping on the bed and disturbing him. He glanced at her irritably, before muttering something none of them heard. "What're you playing?" Elle looked at his switch curiously.
He frowned and said, "Stardew Valley."
Elle nodded. "Cool, cool,"
Whimsy smiled and sat down next to Blue and Elle, while Caiman sat carefully on the end of the bed. "What were you two up to?" Whimsy asked, directing the question at Caiman.
"We were just..." He glanced at Elle. "We were watching anime and chilling," he said. Whimsy looked between them, and Elle cleared her throat. Caiman searched frantically for a segway. "Uh, speaking of, should we watch a movie?"
Elle perked up. "Sure!" She practically fell off Whimsy's bed to grab the remote from the TV stand. She clicked the power button and a cute loading screen with a pixelated cat pawing at a heart floating in the air. She looked over to Whimsy, who smiled, then grabbed her shirt and kissed her.
"Eww, come on Elle," Caiman complained, while Blue groaned. The two girls giggled.
Elle scrolled through the streaming services, then glanced to the others. "Any suggestions?"
"Perks of Being a Wallflower," Caiman said.
"No, not again."
Exasperated, Caiman fell back, hitting his head on Blue's knee. "Ow- oh, sorry man," he said nervously. Blue looked at him softly.
"It's fine," A small smile rose from him, which made Caiman grin. Blue returned to his game. "We could watch Birds of Prey." he added, without even looking at the TV as Elle scrolled past it.
Elle gasped. "Oh, hell yeah!"
The movie began playing. Halfway through, Elle and Whimsy began whispering and cuddling up closer, before kissing where they thought the other two couldn't see. Caiman took a pillow whacked Elle with it, genuine frustration bubbling up.
"Sorry Caiman," Whimsy said.
Elle frowned. "We don't have to apologize to him,"
They glared at each other, before a scream rang out. Their attention snapped back to the TV where the action had been raised significantly.
