Elle chewed on the end of her pen, thoughts elsewhere. She was thinking about a date she could take Whimsy on that would wow her.
"Hey dude!" Elle's friend, Min, sat down next to her. "Okay, I'm so confused about this problem and Stella won't help me- " They raised their voice. "which is rude."
A table away, a beautiful dark-skinned girl with long green hair known as Stella glared at them. Elle smirked. "I honestly wasn't even paying attention," she admitted.
Min waggled their eyebrows. "Thinkin' bout your giiiirlfrieend?"
"All the time, " Elle said. Min chuckled.
Stella got up from her chair and walked over to them, plopping down on the floor. She put her paper on the floor and slid it over. "I'm guessing neither of you know what you're doing," she said, amusement twinkling in her eyes. Elle and Min glanced at each other, then shook their heads. "Copy my paper,"
"Thanks Stell~!" Min grabbed the paper and immediately scribbling all of Stella's answers down. Their grey-brown hair kept falling into their eyes, and they kept pushing it away. Elle silently appreciated her nicely trimmed bangs.
Min handed the paper to Elle, then turned to Stella. "Where did you learn to do calculus?" they questioned. "You just had an NC,"
"The teacher got me an after school tutor. She's really awesome," she answered, leaning back on her hands. "Honestly, the sweetest person I've ever met,"
Elle wrote down another set of numbers. "I take offence to that,"
"You do that," Stella smirked. Min shoved her. "Dude, gimme a break, it's Friday,"
That shot panic into Elle. She totally forgot it was Friday. That meant the dinner was tonight. She gulped, and stood up. "Uh, be right back guys," she said, immediately walking away. She asked the teacher to go to the bathroom, then stepped out of class, taking her phone out.

Caiman's heart pounded as he tip-toed into the girl's bathroom. Elle was crouching on the ground, head against the wall. She looked up as he came in, then pointed to the lock on the door. Caiman turned it and crouched down next to her. "It's clean in here," Caiman murmured.
Elle groaned. "I forgot the dinner was tonight. My heart is going a mile a minute man." She tapped her fingers on her kneecap.
"Elle," Caiman said, putting a hand on Elle's shoulder. "You gotta chill, alright? Just take a deep breath," She did. "What are you stressed about?"
She frowned at the ground. "I just feel like something's going to go wrong. Augh, this plan is so stupid!" She put her head in her hands and groaned.
"I mean, it's probably stupid to some people, but your situation is special," Caiman said. "It's about being accepted by family, and when you're ridiculed or called out for something you can't control, you crave the praise,"
Elle looked up at him. "Stop psycho-analyzing me," she sniffed.
Sliding onto the floor tentatively, Caiman said, "My mom is a psychologist, I don't know what you expected." Elle gave a small chuckle and sat all the way down next to him.
"I'm going to ignore that we're sitting on a bathroom floor," she said. After a few minutes, there was a knock on the bathroom door. Elle kicked it angrily. "Go away!" then leaned against Caiman and grumbled. He chuckled and tipped his head onto hers.
