Caiman walked into AP Science early the next morning, completely soaked. As he was biking to school like he normally did, it started raining. He had noticed the cloudy sky when he walked out of the house, but he didn't really pay attention to it. Plus, he was running late, so there wasn't time for him to put it together.

He stalked over to his desk and fell into his seat, still dripping. He slammed his head on the table and took a deep breath.

"Are you okay?" Sasha, his table mate, whispered to him.

Caiman looked up wearily. "Sure,"

Sasha put a hand on his back and smiled. "I have a jacket in my backpack. Why don't you take it so you're not freezing?"

"Oh, no, it's okay, really," Caiman waved his hands, exasperated. "My older brother said he'd bring me some clothes,"

"No worries," Sasha said, already going into her bag. "Just for now, to get you warmer. You're shivering," He hadn't even noticed his jaw trembling. Sasha pulled out a thick, colorful wool sweater. "Here," She handed it to him. He took off his sweatshirt and pulled the sweater over his head.

Caiman opened his mouth to thank her, but the teacher clapped loudly, startling him. "Alright, the bell rang five minutes ago, your transition time is up!"

"Thanks," Caiman whispered to Sasha. She smiled and tore a piece of paper from her notebook. She scribbled something onto it, then handed it to him.

It was a chibi duck saying, 'anytime, pal', with a heart. This made him grin, and he tucked it into his pocket.
