Caiman sat on his bed, waiting for Elle. "Hurry up, do you want to be late?" he called.
She harrumphed. "I'm almost done! Can you just help me clip this stupid necklace?" She came out and turned around. Her dress was ankle length, made of a silky black fabric. It had golden rings holding the fabric on her shoulders. It sagged slightly around her chest, which brought out the gold necklace on her collarbone. She held out a thin silver chain with a gem on the end of it to him, which Caiman got up and took.
He fastened the necklace and Elle turned around. "Don't I look hot," It was obviously a rhetorical question, but Caiman still replied.
"No,"
"You're just jelly," Elle said, putting on her black bucket hat. "Now come here, your tie is off," She stepped forward and took his tie in her hands, then redid it. "Ugh, my hands are shaky," she muttered. Caiman could feel it against his collarbone, but said nothing.
She finally finished and tightened it. They stepped back from each other, and Elle smiled at her work. "We match so well," she added proudly. Caiman agreed. His black button up and khaki's fit nicely with her dress, with the added gold tie that brought the rest of it together.
Caiman checked his watch. "It's ten to five," he said. "We need to head out."
Hesitantly, Elle sighed. "Yeah."
"We got this," Caiman held out a fist, and Elle bumped it, nodding with a grin on her face.
The two came out of Caiman's room, quietly as to not alert his little brother. His mom sat in the living room, and her face lit up when she saw them. "Oh, mi dulce niño," she cooed, getting up to cradle his face. "You look so handsome!" She brushed off his shoulders and smiled brightly.
"Thanks mom," he murmured awkwardly.
"De nada baby," She kissed his cheek and pushed him along. "Now go on, get to wherever you're going." she said, winking. "Adíos mi amor! Have fun!"
Caiman waved as he shoved Elle out the door. "Bye mama,"
When they got outside, Elle gave him a weird look, amusement written all over her face. "I don't know weather to be disgusted or charmed," she said.
"I feel the same way about you and Whimsy," Caiman shoved her slightly.
They got into Elle's car, and they started it up in silence. Elle grabbed her phone to turn on her blue tooth, then glanced to Caiman. "Quick overview before I play the best music you'll ever hear," she proclaimed. "Basically... just let me talk and answer questions."
Caiman rolled his eyes and grabbed Elle's phone. "Of course, of course. My turn to pick the music," he sneered.

When they pulled up to Elle's house, she took a deep breath and gripped the steering wheel. "Alright Elle. You got this." She looked over to Caiman.
"You ready?"
She frowned, gazing at her front door. "Ready as I'll ever be,"
They stepped out of the car, Elle's small heels clicking as she walked. Elle stepped onto her porch, and looked at the doorknob. Caiman came and stood next to her. "Let's make this fun," he grinned. Elle smiled and nodded, then knocked on the door.
