Last night, I actually fell asleep pretty early since I was pretty tired yesterday. Though, I was woken up pretty early due to the annoying voice of Monokuma, coming from the screen every room had. The bright light shining from the monitor right into my eyes caused me to shut them open and to lay a pillow over my head. After the announcement was over, I took the pillow from my face and put on the dim light on my desk, making myself ready again.
Still yawning, I exited my room, ready to get the daily meeting over with. I sat down on a chair on my seat and leaned back, waiting for the others to arrive eventually. And soon they did, almost all of the seats filled with the students of Hope's Peak. Like almost every morning, I was sandwiched in between Mondo and Taka which wasn't a problem when I was honest. Mondo seemed really cool and Taka was my childhood friend so not a single complaint from my side-
The meeting today was pretty chilled and so was eating breakfast with the others. It almost felt like we weren't in a life or death situation in this moment. And well, at least I was somehow able to ignore the fact that we were in this situation for a few moments but of course, it didn't succeed always. Moment after moment, more and more teenagers excused themselves and went towards their room or whatever they were going to do. While I was still eating a bit, I thought about the things I could do today. Maybe getting some books from the library which I forgot yesterday because of the argument between Mondo and Byakuya wouldn't be so bad. Then I at least had something productive to do.
After some time, I brought my plate and the things I used for breakfast into the kitchen and laid them in the dishwasher, soon disappearing again from the dining hall. I made my way towards the library, hoping I would at least get some mangas or comics but without success. This wasn't necessarily bad though, there were still a lot of other books which seemed somehow interesting.
It didn't take a lot of time for Taka to join the library. "Oh Y/N! Would you like to study a bit? Even if we are captured in here, it surely is still necessary to do some school related things in here", Taka let out. When I was honest, I was happy we didn't also have to study or do homework or to write tests while we were in here- Combined with the life or death situation it would have stressed the shit out of me. "I was just about to grab a book, so I'mma pass this time", I let out to the Ultimate Moral compass with a smile while I picked a book out of the dusty shelves. "Oh okay but don't hesitate to tell me when you would like to do something for school", Taka offered me. "Yeah I know", I let out to him, soon leaving the library and searching for a peaceful place where I could read which wasn't those ugly dorm rooms.
In the end I decided myself for the cafeteria. I mean I could always go and grab some drinks or a few snacks when I was hungry and this was a pretty chilled place for reading.
I placed myself in the cafeteria, leaning back against the chair I shortly still sat on, opening the book and reading for some long time. The book I started was already almost halfway finished by the time I noticed a few people coming in. I heard that it had been Taka and Mondo who were somehow caught up in a conversation. I ignored them at first, taking some more sips of my drink I was getting while I was still reading and they eventually noticed me. "Oh, Y/N, perfect timing!", Taka let out. "Okay okay I have a favor to ask. Like seriously, you just got to be our witness", Mondo let out, raising his voice. Damn- this seemed very interesting indeed.
"What's the matter?", I asked the two of them, raising an eyebrow. "This dude has been talking shit about me since day one! Calling me a coward and shit", Mondo replied. "You ARE a coward! Only cowards use violence to solve their problems!", Taka replied. "That's why you can't do what society asks of you, why you walk around dressed like that!", he added. "THE FUCK YOU SAY? You dunno shit about me", Mondo replied. "And you're saying YOU'RE not a coward?", he added. "Oh, I KNOW I am", Taka replied.
"Okay so what is it you need my witness for?", I asked them. "That's what I was gonna ask you right now. I want you to be our witness when we do a competition of who is manlier!", Mondo replied to me.
I mean, if I didn't, they probably wouldn't get along afterwards anymore. Maybe I would even get them to be friends. Otherwise they probably would just have continued to argue every single day.
So they eventually decided on doing a competition in the sauna. In this case, it was even better that I was with them because who knows how that could have ended. I mean despite how determined they both were to win this competition, they both wouldn't just give up like nothing and something like the sauna could get very dangerous very quickly. And I kinda felt cool playing the care taker in the friendship between Taka and me. Usually it was always Taka who gave me lectures for any possible reason and now I was in that position. We eventually ehaded towards the now open sauna.
